The Albanian pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest known as the Festivali i Këngës continued this evening with the second semi-final aired live through the main broadcasting television channel in the nation. The showcase is currently celebrating its fiftieth edition and therefore it is being organised on the best possible scale in order to impress the local and international viewers whilst looking back at some of the best moments of the music competition which has seen the rise of several upcoming talents with the establishment of the most notable artists in the country. This year, there are quite a number of established performers taking part but then again, some newcomers have also made the list and all hope to be the ones in Baku, Azerbaijan which will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012.
Monday marked the first semi-final of the prestigious event with ten (10) entries making it to the next stage of the competition out of the competing fourteen (14) and on Tuesday meaning last night, it was not different with another ten (10) songs passing through to the Thursday finals leaving out another four (4). This years’ Festivali i Këngës is truly a special one and the list of finalists is one that managed to also mix established and upcoming talent with the possibility to be represented by an extremely astounding entry which will be totally revamped by the time of the actual music competition noting that Albania has conducted this operation each and every year since their premier participation back in 2004 with Anjeza Shanini and her entry ‘The Image of You’. Below you can see the list of all the finalists with the ones in bold being those that qualified this evening.
