Greece: NERIT Will Not Return to JESC in 2014

NERIT, the public broadcaster responsible for the participation of Greece at events organised by the European Broadcasting Union was thought to be inches away from confirming participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, but unfortunately, this was not the case as the Hellenic nation will not be returning in 2014.

The confirmation of Cyprus last week should have been the final bargaining point for Greece but as the new broadcaster continues to search for financial support, it was always going to be difficult for a competition return, especially with rumours of support for the senior edition of the Eurovision Song Contest also waning. At this point in time, 9 countries are to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014, with a Big Five country, presumably Italy making their debut. Stay tuned to even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.
