An Expert Opinion: Denmark - 'New Tomorrow'
Written by Marc Calleja BaylissThe eighteen entry and penultimate song in the second semi-final will be coming from the nation of Denmark, one which has been taking part in the event for quite some time. This year as the broadcaster did last year, organised only one show for the final and that was held in February. In the end, the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix managed to keep up to the usual high standards of it all and the people seemed to enjoy it quite a lot actually. In the end of the evening, it was between a young little known of girl and a band and the band proved to be successful as A Friend in London will be heading to Germany with the song ‘A New Tomorrow’ written by Lise Cabble & Jakob Schack Glæsner.

Biography of the Artists (Presented by Eurovision.tv)
A Friend In London was formed in 2005 when four guys met at a boarding school in Vostrup, Denmark. From day one the hunt for powerful and catchy melodies was the main focus of the band. Through the past years the band has been touring Denmark with more than 100 shows refining the expression of their work. The music combines the simplicity of boyband pop with the complexity of British influenced indie rock backed by powerful choir arrangements.

Chorus Lyrics
Come on boys come on girls
In this crazy crazy world
You’re the diamonds you’re the pearls
Let’s make a new tomorrow
Through the Eyes of Our Experts
Michelle Farrugia: I like this song it has variation and both melodically and texturally. Also the chorus is catchy and without being predictable. Backing vocals are strong and really support the lead vocal line. A Friend in London has an anthem type feel which I think the audience will enjoy. Eight Points!!
Tobias Larsson: Anthemic arena pop/rock of the kind that turned Katrina & The Waves into Eurovision winners back in 1997. The lead singer is very charismatic and possesses a good voice, which helps to lift this somewhat average song into something bigger and better than it really is. Denmark also has a way of making their songs work live, and this could go very far in the end. A bit further than it is worth, even. Seven points!
Steve Allen: Great. Wonderfully grand contemporary melodic pop rock, very melodic as we expect from the scandinavians.. a huge huge pop chorus, great. possible winner and hit record! Ten Points!!!

History of Nation
One of the key nations within the annual Eurovision Song Contest has aloways been Denmark actually having started to participate very early on in the event. Missing only the first participation within the event, the nation went onto take part in each and every edition of the event when it was possible for them. In fact the only times when they did not take part within the event was in 1994, 1998 and 2003 when they were relegated because of poor results. In the meantime, the nation has been proud of itself on more than one occasion although their vital important years have to be in 1963 with Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann and their entry ‘Dansevise’ as well as in 2000 with the Olsen Brothers and their song ‘Fly On The Wings of Love’. In the meantime, last year they managed to reach fourth position with their duo song ‘In A Moment Like This’ performed by Chanèe and N’Evergreen.
