Lithuania: Reviewing the song 'Love Is Blind'
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
The semi-finals of the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest are just a week away and our reviewers have come full circle today to speak about the final entry in the running order and that is none other than Lithuania but their journey has not been easy noting that there have been songs which have been given positive remarks and praise with others failing to impress ultimately and therefore falling below the usual standard. Nevertheless, everything might change as from today onwards when rehearsals commence but the experts saw the songs through the official preview videos and thus, there will be differences. The final entry is being brought about by Donny Montell and bears the name Love Is Blind composed by Brandon Stone and penned by the same Brandon Stone alongside Jodie Rose. For Donatas Montvydas, or Donny Montell (24), creating, singing and dancing is his passion in life,…

Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
Sixteen tracks have come to be reviewed by our esteemed panel of critics who have clearly defined their own personal opinion over a number of notable concerns including technique of the voice, genre of the song and also hit potential amongst other things. The penultimate track in the second semi-final of this years' Eurovision Song Contest is coming from Bosnia & Herzegovina, a successful nation in the music competition whom this year will be represented by the musical stylings of Maya Sar, who just happens to be a very notable name in the music industry of the Balkans. She will be performing the song Korake Ti Znam which has been composed and penned by her husband whose name is Mahir Sarihodžić. Also aiding in the composition is none other than the renowned Adriano Pennino who was the musical director at the Sanremo festival earlier this year. A supremely talented singer/songwriter,…

The last three entries of the second semi-final are the ones left to be introduced to the public and they are quite interesting noting that they have amassed positive criticism from almost across the board. Sometimes, countries tend to take up examples which they have achieved in the past or maybe even those which had been noted from other countries and one such example might be said to have taken place this year as Norway will be represented by Tooji, an upcoming artist, television host and former model on MTV whose song entitled Stay seems to be extremely similar to Popular by Eric Saade last year. The track which will be doing the honour for the Scandinavian nation was composed and penned by the trio; individually known as Tooji, Figge Boström & Peter Boström. Tooji was born in Shiraz in Iran in 1988. He had his first birthday whilst fleeing…

The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest has been quite the interesting affair noting that there are up to two entries which have been touted as definite qualifiers leaving the rest of the field somewhat open. As always, there will be a number of surprises because the audience on the actual night and the previous evening would have done their deed in voting for what they see as absolutely striking. The fifteenth entry is the second showcase is featuring the unlikely Slovakia who will be represented by one of their most popular stars who has decided to use the new stage name of Max Jason Mai for the Eurovision Song Contest. The song that he will be presenting to the audience is entitled Don't Close Your Eyes, one which he wrote by himself in terms of both music and lyrics. The latter part of the second semi-final has to be one of the most intriguing spectacles noting that the variety of genres is very much reflected especially following an array of Balkan tunes which will become somewhat synonymous. Despite their beauty, it is somewhat extremely important that they all relate to each other and some of them might be left out and that is why the next ballad is different because it has a different sound, more notable which will be respected by a number of people around the continent. The country that is being referred to is none other than Estonia who this year have decided to send the crooning Ott Lepland with the song Kuula which he composed alongside Aapo Ilves. He has always beaten the competition by an impressive margin. In the final of Eesti Laul, for example, he received 67% of the votes. Ott was already…

Turkey: Reviewing the track 'Love Me Back'
Written by Marc Calleja Bayliss
The second semi-final fo the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest has always proven to be more interesting based on the previosu results obtained by the countries that are competing in it as well as the songs that are normally presented by the same nations. The main favourite has been noted to be Sweden but then again, there are a number of other countries which are quickly rising to a new status and one of them is surely the song representing Turkey entitled Love Me Back performed and written by Can Bonomo who is also a rising star in his homecountry. Last year, Turkey failed to make it through to the final round and therefore, there is a lot of expectation this time. Each and every year the Eurovision Song Contest is riddled with a number of countries who are touted by betting odds and polls as favourites to finish on top and in the past couple of years, they have been proven correct on more than one occasion and therefore, it is quite important to have a look at what they are saying this time round. The country which leads all of the possible tallies is Sweden who this year will be performing in the eleventh slot within the second semi-final to be held on Thursday night. Their representative is the upcoming artist known as Loreen with the song Euphoria which has been written by Thomas G:son & Peter Boström. Loreen (28) was raised on the countryside outside Stockholm, in a family of Moroccan-Berber origin. She has a very focused attitude to her music. She gets frustrated when she's tagged as an…
