One of the competing entries in this years' Eurovision Song Contest is coming from Iceland, a nation which like Malta has been competing for twenty-five years without victory thus far yet with two runner-up finishes, one coming in 1999 thanks to Selma and her song 'All Out of Luck' and the other in 2009 with Yohanna and her ballad 'Is It True?'. This time round, they seem that they are presenting their best track since then despite being in the final each and every year since 2008 when they seemed to start bringing in more of an international flavour to the competition. This time round, RUV as in recent years held a public selection in which Gréta & Jónsi finished out on top.

There had been a lot of discussions on the language that will be taken up but it seems that English is the way to go with 'Never Forget' being the translation put forward. The brand new version of the track has come out to positive acclaim by both the fans in Iceland and also in Europe and this is also well reflected through the official betting odds which place the country in eleventh position and as a definite qualifier. The official video of the song has been shot in various regions in Iceland both, the North and the South and it shows the beautiful extravagance of the nation. Iceland will be competing in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held on Tuesday, 22nd May 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
