One particular story in Malta does tend to get the people talking and this year it seems to surround the story of Ylenia Vella who a couple of weeks ago was dropped from the performance of 'This Is The Night' to be performed by Kurt Calleja in fourth position in the second semi-final with the main reason given to the young artist being that they need a better vocal. It seems that the Public Broadcasting Services have just managed to find someone suitable for the role but despite the growing indications, nothing has been confirmed on whether a female vocal will be added in the long run although a faint one can be heard behind the raspy vocals of Kurt Calleja in the video. According to our multiple sources, the person who will ultimately be backing Kurt and his team will be none other than Amber. This news has now been confirmed by the Public Broadcasting Services as Amber joined Kurt Calleja, Rebecca Spiteri, Christian Calleja, Kevin Calleja and Warren Bonello.

Amber has quickly become a household name in the local music industry especially following her victory at the 'Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza' with the song 'Trid Tapprezza' written by Ray Agius and Alfred C Sant. Following that, she managed to make it to the semi-finals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with two songs, one entitled 'Catch 22' and the other entitled 'Touch Wood' but ultimately made it to the final round with the former singing a different genre for the festival. She returned this year and made it through to the finals with relative ease as she performed a more traditional power ballad entitled 'Answer With Your Eyes' which took her to third place, as secured by the jury following a dismal showing from the public unfortunately. The accompaniment seems to be quite an interesting issue now and if it is Amber, we would like to wish her the very best of luck as Malta represented in the Eurovision Song Contest later on this year.
