Not too long ago, it was noted that acts that compete in the Eurovision Song Contest are not succeeding any long but it seems that the stigma started to change with the success of Sertab Erener and Helena Paparizou in 2004 and 2005 respective as their tracks Everyway That I Can as well as My Number One were hits even in the United States of America. It seems that the trend has continued well even this year as Loreen and the winning entry for Sweden entitled Euphoria managed to crack most charts in Europe even climbing to number #1 in Ireland now officially announced as number #3 in the United Kingdom making it the highest charting winning of the Eurovision Song Contest in the country since Love Shine a Light way back in 1997 which was actually the British entry.

When the mid-weeks were announced, Loreen was at number #2 position but at the end of the week, there are numerous changes to the chart noting that three years ago, Fairytale by Alexander Rybak started at number #3 position in the mid-week chart before finishing at number #10. In the meantime, the winning entry of 2010 being Satellite by Lena-Meyer Landrut for Germany could only manage position number #30 as opposed to the winning duo of last years' competition Ell & Nikki whose entry Running Scared peaked at only number #66. This is a huge success for an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and it is important to note that this is one of the two songs that have made it into the official charts this week with the other song being none other than La La Love by Ivi Adamou which represented Cyprus. It could be found within position number #77. Stay tuned for escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about the 2013 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which will be taking place in Sweden.
