Croatia: Natali Dizdar Puts Her Name Forward
Written by Marc Calleja BaylissCroatia had earned the right to be called one of the most successful nations that compete in the Eurovision Song Contest during the nineties especially due to the fact that they managed to reach a total of five top ten placings including a peak of fourth position on two respective occasions, the first being in 1996 with Maja Blagdan who performed the track Sveta Ljubav and the second one being in 1999 when Doris Dragović performed the song Marija Magdalena to ultimate perfection. In the past three years though, the nation has failed to make an impact on the competition failing to qualify to the finals even though they managed to bring about one of the most prominent names in the local music industry when it comes to the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Nina Badric with the song Nebo managed to win the support of the jury finishing in seventh place but falling short with the public in fourteenth place. The first name to emerge as a firm contender to represent the nation in 2013 is that of Natali Dizdar.

Natali Dizdar is one of the most prominent names in the Croatian music industry having entered some of the most notable competitions in the country. She came to fame through Pop Idol although it had long been noticed that the girl has talent. She is signed to none other than Croatia Records which accounts for all of the biggest stars within the country and those who had been performing under the Yugoslavia banner under the years. She has already released two albums in the industry having collaborated with the likes of Matija Dedić, Arsen Dedić and Coco Mosquito and it is also to be noted that both albums managed to receive several nominations in the local music awards ceremony. In a recent interview she gave to the media, she said she would like to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest and trying to achieve what the last three representatives being Nina Badric, Daria Kizner and Feminnem failed to do so.
