Following the announcement of the rules and regulations of the Malta Eurovision Festival back on the 1st October 2010, the Public Broadcasting Services have been quite quiet on the proceedings of the actual pre-selection process. At first, a number of singers brought forward complaints about the high price of submissions and we are yet to know whether this is an issue that has been dealt with, especially just two weeks prior to the days of submission which have been set on the 25th and 26th November 2010.

In the meantime though, the broadcaster is busy planning the festival itself and last Sunday through The Times of Malta, they made a call for tenders to offer their venue services for the event. Since 2007, the festival has been staged at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre within the city of Ta' Qali but prior to this the show was staged in the Meditteranean Conference Centre within the capital city of Valletta. Both venues are well designed for such an event yet in my opinion considering that both have been trying to host, the MFCC has an edge having won over in the last couple of years. It is expected that both venues will be trying to get the festival knowing that it will get massive exposure but I believe that Ta' Qali will be the venue yet again. It will be quite interesting to note. This is actually the first news other than the rules which we have managed to uncover. The broadcaster is currently extremely busy with Nicole Azzopardi and her participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest set to take place on the 20th November.
