Cascada fronted by lead vocalist, Natalie Horler got another promotional activity settled as a performance of the song Glorious, the entry for the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Germany took place during this years' edition of the ECHO Awards which took place last night. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk over the general commercial disappointment regarding this years' national selection by nevertheless, the winning entry was as high as number #6 and is spending a fourth week in the top #50 which should definitely count as a positive element. That was only one of the several connections with the Eurovision Song Contest that evolved throughout the course of the evening.
Lena Meyer-Landrut, winner of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with the track Satellite is still going strong in her native Germany with both the album Stardust and the leading single of the same name managing to go up to number #2 in the charts. During the course of the gala, Lena was awarded with the accolade for Best Video whilst she gave a resounding performance of her latest track entitled Neon (Lonely People) which she had also performed during the national final earlier this year. In the meantime, last years' Eurovision Song Contest representative, Roman Lob was also awarded the Best Radio Single by the organising body for his song Standing Still which got Germany to eighth place at the annual event. Cascada will have to keep in mind that in the past three years, the country has managed top ten positions and thus, she might be feeling anxious but if last nights' performance is anything to go by, she seems very much prepared. Roman Lob achieved fame in Germany following his appearance at the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest where he successfully represented Germany with the track Standing Still written by Jamie Cullum, Steve Robson and Wayne Hector. One would easily say that it was somewhat of a dream team considering that the British songwriters had penned hits for the likes of James Blunt, Take That, Olly Murs, Blue, Busted, Westlife, Atomic Kitten, Leanne Rimes, One Direction, Emma Bunton, Susan Boyle, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj amongst others. The song was well received in Baku, Azerbaijan though noting that it finished in eight place overall, having amassed a sixth place with tele-voting and tenth place with the jury. Roman Lob achieved success also in the charts with the track peaking at number #3 in Germany and being in an album which successfully charted at number #9. The music career continues with Universal Music Germany releasing Call Out The Sun as the sophomore single.
As previously stated, the track entitled Call Out The Sun is a track taken from the debut album or Roman Lob which bears the name Changes. It is quite interesting that the songwriting team behind this track is completely different that the star dream team found in his debut track and the result is actually very much different in terms of sound. The production was done by his mentor Thomas D and therefore, it is still being marketed as a song which should do well in the charts. Since winning the 2010 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with Lena-Meyer Landrut, it seems that Germany have found the successful formula because they have managed to finish in the top ten for three consecutive years now and will be hoping to continue their trend in the coming years. Roman Lob in the meantime has not ruled out a return to the Eurovision Song Contest but not immediately. He is set to go on tour in support of his debut album soon and more details of that could be found on his official website. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for more of the latest news about foreign artists who went to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Earlier this year, Germany had decided to come back to the Eurovision Song Contest with the same format that created a star in the form of Lena-Meyer Landrut ending up finishing in the top spot back in Oslo, Norway with the song Satellite and then managing a second top ten position with the song Taken By A Stranger when competing in her home country. This time round though, a man has been chosen over a woman and Roman Lob came into the competition with the belief that he could do well even though pundits where playing his entry down placing it within a mid-table position although that has all seemed to change now following two rehearsals.
The song which is representing the country bears the name Standing Still written by Steve Robson, Wayne Hector and Jamie Cullum. The three are synonymous to the world of music actually having penned a number of hits for the likes of One Direction, James Blunt, Carrie Underwood, Leona Lewis, Faith Hill, Blue, Westlife and Take That amongst others. Roman has been doing a great job in terms of performance and the simple staging is doing the track wonders. Earlier today Roman was taking interviews with the media actually and therefore, our team present in Baku, Azerbaijan also spoke to him about his performance and career thus far. We believe that Germany has truly become a contender amongst the six or seven entries that seem to be able to make a name for themselves this year.
