Maltese singer and artist Amber is thrilled to announce the launch of her single called "What They Say". The song forms part of Amber's upcoming debut album which will be released later this year in Europe and the United States of America. “What They Say” is composed with Amber in mind. It is a pop song with a dash of jazz, a characteristic that distinguishes Amber from many other pop artists. What makes this song special for Amber is the fact that she took an active role from the initial concept to production. The song is a rhythm and blues (R'n'B) song mixed with Amber’s jazzy and bluesy voice, which makes a unique and interesting blend. Amber’s vocal uniqueness is highlighted in this song to offer the listener a very pleasant texture. “What They Say” is the creation of Matt Muxu Mercieca, an established singer and song writer and Elton…

Malta: Talented Youngsters Perform Weekly on La5

Written by
Normally, Sundays are sought to sit down and relax with family, and with “Tra Sogno e Realta” airing on La5, entertainment is also being provided, courtesy of young and upcoming talent, from Italy and Malta. As a matter of fact, the episodes which have aired thus far have seen no less than three (3) students of La Voix Music Academy reach the next stage of the competition. These are none other than; Kassidy Calleja and Krista Sujak, relative newcomers to the music scene, as well as Veronica Rotin, whose name and reputation precede her, having previously taken part in “Io Canto” on Italia Uno, “Next Star” on Antena 1 and most recently the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 2nd place. On behalf of escflashmalta.com, we would like to wish all these youngsters the very best of luck in the next round, as well as their future whilst hoping…
Garnering a total of 185 points, Destiny Chukunyere from Malta has been crowned the winner of the 13th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, following an exceptional performance of “Not My Soul”, an original song composed by Elton Zarb to the lyrics of Matthew “Muxu” Mercieca. This is Malta’s second victory in three years, having previously finished in 1st place with “The Start”, also composed by Elton Zarb to the lyrics of Matthew “Muxu” Mercieca with vocals provided by Gaia Cauchi. What makes this victory even more special though is that Destiny has managed to set the record for the most accumulated points, as had been set by Maria Isabel at the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest! In second place was Mika from Armenia whose “Love” garnered 176 points, whilst Lina from Slovenia finished in third place with 112 points following a beautiful performance of “Prva ljubezen”. Below you…
Destiny Chukunyere who will be representing Malta at the 13th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the original entry "Not My Soul", composed by Elton Zarb with lyrics by Matt 'Muxu' Mercieca, just finished her 1st Dress Rehearsal, receiving a rapturous applause as she made her way onto the stage, mid-way through the song and at the very end whilst belting those high notes. Described my members of the foreign press as a young Aretha Franklin, a positive and spirited Destiny Chukunyere will take to the stage for a second time later this evening for the Jury Dress Rehearsal, a performance which will amount to 50% of the final result. All the votes will be read out and broadcast onto the scoreboard as per the announcement of each spokesperson. On behalf of Malta, there will be Federica Falzon, as previously published here. We urge you to stay tuned…

JESC 2015: Federica Set to Read Out The Points

Written by
Described by many as the girl with the big voice, Federica Falzon became a national treasure by virtue of achieving victory in one of the most beloved international talent competitions for children, Ti Lascio Una Canzone, before being chosen to represent Malta at the 12th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. “Diamonds”, composed by Elton Zarb with lyrics by Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca, had the distinct honour of being the first, and thus far only entry to be performed on home soil. It finished in 4th place, receiving maximum 12 points from Italy, the eventual winner of the competition. Since then, Federica Falzon has gone from strength to strength, re-branding herself by virtue of becoming a style icon, setting an example to her peers, and to all those children who aim to reach their goals in life. In just a couple of days, she will continue her journey, having been…
“My love for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest has never been a secret, but I have decided to stay away for a second consecutive year, focusing on my career in the United States”, said Davinia to the editorial team of escflashmalta.com two weeks after the Public Broadcasting Services received submissions for the next edition of the national selection, slated to take place in January 2016. In a rather meteoric rise to the top of the local music scene, Davinia emerged as a successful radio artist, with debut single “Bottled My Teardrops” and the follow-up “Sail Away” scaling the top of the charts on 89.7 Bay and receiving nationwide airplay. She submit an entry into the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2013, “Betrayed”, composed by Elton Zarb to the lyrics of Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca, emerging as a dark horse during rehearsals, eventually managing a second runner-up finish. Davinia did not look…

MESC 2016: Claudia Faniello Denies Rumours

Written by
"I decided not to go for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest this time around, focusing on myself and new material, as part of a larger collection", echoed Claudia Faniello to the editorial team of escflashmalta.com, amidst growing rumours that she was eyeing a comeback. Claudia Faniello first emerged onto the local music scene with "High Alert", an original song which got through to the final stages of the Malta Song for Europe 2006 with the vocals of Olivia Lewis, who had to interpret another song, "Spare a Moment", having obtained more points. As a result, the renowned songwriter chose the younger of the Faniello siblings, and from then onwards, she has gone from strength to strength. Finishing as the first runner-up in 2008 with "Caravaggio", composed by Ray Agius with lyrics by Godwin Sant, and in 2012 with "Pure", composed by Philip Vella with lyrics by Gerard James Borg, Claudia…
