In less than 4 weeks, on the 18th February, Malta shall be choosing the next representative, and entry to represent Malta in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which is taking place in Kiev, Ukraine.
Details about the most anticipated music event of the year have been emerging in recent weeks, with the final 16 artists drawn into a running order, the hosts made public, and tickets becoming available.
The line-up for this year’s edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest consists of a group of artists who have grown up in the public eye, some of which are making their debut in the competition, and others who can be termed as veterans. Two of those so-called veterans will be opening and closing in the running order, which can be viewed in full below;
The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is taking place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) for the very first time since 2013 when Gianluca Bezzina, a newcomer at the time had stormed to victory with his happy-go-lucky entry, “Tomorrow”, co-written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat.
The event shall be hosted by Daniel Azzopardi and Charlene Mercieca, neither a television host but both well-known with the public, with the latter having recently been in the public eye following a battle with cancer, and the latter being a leading male actor in the series ‘Strada Stretta’.
On behalf of the editorial team at escflashmalta.com, we would like to wish everyone all the very best of luck in this year’s edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Should you wish to support the contestants, purchase your tickets. Stay tuned to this portal as well as Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

'The Celebrity Night' is a weekly television programme which has become somewhat synonymous with Saturday evening, is broadcast on F Living Channel. The series which officially kicked off at the beginning of October revolves around the one-to-one interviews, which speak of class, decadence and wit, and have become synonymous with Deo Grech's presenting style.
Deborah C, a female vocalist, who barely needs an introduction, having successfully made it through to the final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on four occasions; in 2012 with "You Make Me Go Uh Uh", in 2013 with "Love-O-Holic", in 2014 with "Until We Meet Again" and in 2015 with "It's OK". During that first year of competition, she also managed to triumph in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with "Jekk Nużaw Moħħna". Currently, Deborah C is a resident singer on the show "Ħadd Għalik".
Another female singer on this evening's episode is none other than Marilena Gauci, who had the opportunity to represent Malta at the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest as part of the Young Talent Team, before eventually kick-starting a solo career, one which led to her first success, in L-Għanja tal-Poplu Żgħażagħ with the song "B'Fommu Sieket". Since then, she has made the live phase of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions; in 2011 with "He's a Demon" and in 2013 with "Overrated", the singer's predominant success has come in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, where she has twice been first runner-up.
The final guest is Ekaterina Camilleri Markina, a Russian-Maltese beauty model. This and much more during this week's episode of 'The Celebrity Night' which airs on Saturday night at 20:30 on F Living Channel. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the local music scene.

In the past couple of years, charity has been one of the most pivotal aspects in the creation of a state, which while somewhat limited in resources, is not lacking in generosity, with record funds being targeted and achieved every year. "L-Istrina" is the most important charity event, with funds given to various organisations.
As a means of supporting this noble gesture, a theme song is recorded, and what is intriguing is that several familiar faces make an appearance, all in the face of charity. This year, the song is entitled "Int Min Int", and is composed by Dominic Cini to the lyrics of Giovann Attard with production entrusted to Elton Zarb of Freetime Productions.
"Int Min Int" features the vocals of; Amber (ESC 2015), Dominic (MESC 2015), Renato (ESC 1975) , Ina Robinich, Federica Falzon (JESC 2014), Gaia Cauchi (JESC 2013), La Barokka, Mary Spiteri (ESC 1992), Mary Rose Mallia, Noel Zarb, Georgina (ESC 1991), Janvil (MESC 2005-2006, 2009), Josmar, Iona Dalli (MESC 2015), Lawrence Gray (MESC 1998, 1999, 2001-2004, 2010, 2012, 2015), Ludwig Galea (ESC 2004), Deborah C (MESC 12-14).
We urge you to watch, and donate during this year's edition of "L-Istrina" as it is aired on Television Malta, ONE Television, NET Television, F Living and Smash Television during the traditional "Boxing Day", otherwise also known as the 26th December, the day following Christmas. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

After an amazing show, we got to know who will be the 14 (fourteen) competing in the Maltese National Final tomorrow evening. There are some of the qualifiers which were a bit of a surprise to see them go through to the next stage, but after tonight's performances, we can say that all the acts did brilliantly and it was a wonderful show.
At the end of the evening, there were 6 eliminated acts; Lyndsay, Iona Dalli, Raquel, Domenique, Danica and Corazon. People in the venue were surprised at the outcome, noting that there were seriously surprised to see Danica and Raquel miss out on a place in the final. The only explaination for this, is to ensure that there is diversity in terms of genres.
At the post-showcase press conference, Head of Delegation and Public Broadcasting Services Chief Executive Officer, Anton Attard congratulated the qualifiers, whilst thanking the other 6 acts for their contribution to an extremely high standard.Following the draw of the first and last slots in the running order, the producer came up with a finalised version of the draw, one which you may denote below.
01. "Breakaway" - Glen Vella (Kevin Borg / Simon Gribbe)
02. "12, Baker Street" - Karen DeBattista (Jan Van Dijck / Emil Calleja Bayliss)

We urge you to stay tuned even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the 2015 Malta Eurovision Song Contest as soon as it becomes available. Just a quick reminder, that during the Final, a LIVE report will be conducted by Clifford Jo Zahra, who was at the venue during the semi-final.
On the 21st and 22nd November, the Public Broadcasting Services will be hosting the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest at the Marsa Shipbuilding. 20 acts will be taking centre stage, in hope of representing the country at next year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, being held in Vienna, Austria. Over the next couple of weeks, escflashmalta.com will be publishing a series of interviews with all the participants. Whilst thanking the Public Broadcasting Services for this opportunity, Let's continue and follow things up with Deborah C.
Would you kindly introduce your entry to our readers and also identify the meaning behind the lyrics?
‘It’s OK’ evokes a simple message that everyone can relate to. Unfortunately, we all go through stuff that makes us upset whether it’s a heartbreak or any other form of pain, but we all move on because we live in hope that it will be ok. In life, we experience many things and they normally sort themselves out after a while. So it’s fine, you can cry, you can feel sad but not for too long as we only live once and we must try and enjoy every moment of it. So to sum up, the song is about accepting that things will not always go your way and it’s ok, you can handle it anyway :)
In Malta, the Eurovision Song Contest is considered to be a major outlet for the music industry, and you stand here as one of the semi-finalists. What does the whole experience mean to you?
Speaking for myself as a singer, Eurovision is a big music platform which may unlock new doors and provide international opportunities. All artists including composers and authors taking part in it will have the occasion to demonstrate their talent to a numerous multitude.
Recently, Malta has been rather successful at the Eurovision Song Contest, making the final on four of the last five participation attempts. What do you think is the reason for this success, and do you believe that your entry has what it takes to continue this positive trend?
Personally, I think that in the past four years the singers/band that represented Malta had delivered an outstanding performance and also all songs were particularly catchy. I believe my entry has a very catchy melody yet is very simple and easy to remember.
If you were given the opportunity to sing another one of the competing entries in the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which one would it be and why?
I think it would be ‘Love and Let Go’ by Eklessia Sisters because it’s a sweet song based on a true story.
Do you have any plans to release more music in the future, and do you have any particular projects in the pipeline?
Yes definitely! I’ll be working on more original songs and hopefully to be releasing an Album.
Would you like to say anything to our readers at escflashmalta.com?
We become artists and we continue to succeed in life thanks to the followers for keeping our music shine and alive!! A huuuuuge Thank You goes to all of you out there who have been constantly supporting me through the years…I really appreciate it! Thanks so much for all your positive feedback ;)
