Malta: Animae Gearing up for a Mini-Concert This WeekWritten by Marc Calleja Bayliss
One of the leading events in the local music scene in the past couple of weeks has surely been the two concerts given by the Animae Gospel Choir. Both of the evenings were instantly sold out with most of the people remembering how sublime the group were during their initial major performance at the Manoel Theatre. This time round they used the Mediterranean Conference Centre, a larger venue which has been known to host some of the most notable events in the country. It is widely known that half of the proceeds from the two nights actually went to Richmond Foundation, an organization which addresses mental heath. It seems that they are enjoying themselves more than expected with the group deciding to give another mini-concert, this time in support of the Parkinson's Awareness Week. This performance will be somewhat different from the ones at MCC, since it will feature more mellow worship songs together with Gospel classics performed in Animae's elaborate harmonies and accompanied by Christian Borg on the piano.
