The local music scene has been on the verge of a stark positive run in recent years but not only from the adult perspective because the younger generation of Maltese artists have seriously been making a name for themselves and their country by headlining international competitions and showcases all over the world noting the successes of individuals such as Danica Muscat and Maxine Pace for example in the Italian Hit Show 'Io Canto' which airs on commercial television station 'Canale 5'. It has just come to our attention that another young female performer by the name of Gaia Cauchi has also made it to the live shows of another popular singing show in Italy entitled 'Ti Lascia Una Canzone'.

The young prodigal singer has been training for quite some time with popular local singer, Gillian Attard known for her hit song '' which is in turn a very emotional track which many people tend to relate to and she was given the chance to perform on the popular show after the production company; Ballandi had chosen her based on her vocal capabilities and sheer enthusiasm to performing. She performed for the very first time last weekend and she did so with the song 'Proud Mary'. The host of the music showcase, the famous Antonella Clerici, who also hosted last years' edition of the San Remo competition spoke highly of the singer prior to her performance in the RAI theatre in the capital city of Rome.
