Bletchley Park, are one of the most prolific bands in the local music scene at the moment especially due to the fact that they are releasing their debut album this evening following a number of months crammed up in a studio getting their material ready. The many hours of hard work has resulted into a professionally made debut album bearing the name My Body Fighting, recorded in Ibiza under the direction of the renowned Paul Powell and then finished locally at Jagged House Studios by Howard Keith, well known for his work with Red Electrick, Airport Impressions, Tribali and Ira Losco.

Bletchley Park first came onto the scene by playing a number of gigs both on local and foreign shores but it seems that they made a name for themselves following the release of their extended play entitled From Bletchley, With Love. The collection of eight tracks was released in 2010 and ended up being quite the hit, earning the band their very first Bay Music Award as Best Newcomers. The coveted award has been the first stepping stone for many throughout the years and that is why, expectation on this evenings' first release have been set high. Music has always been described as universal and Bletchley Park bring about a different sound than the market seems to be promoting moving away from commercial pop to a darker sound, one which is defined by melodious guitars and airy vocals. Music enthusiasts have been very positive about the sound and the band have gone on record to describe the album 'as a musical journey that allowed their sound to develop and take its direction'.

In fact, they also want to add that the notable differences in their brand new sound is 'extensive use of backing vocals  and slower tempo'. Sarah Falzon for hotshoeflash! in collaboration with the band worked on the design and the layout of the artwork for the album based on the photography by Denise Scicluna and Chris Dorney. Earlier this week, 89.7 Bay Radio proudly played their new single entitled Tight Red Dress whose video is directed and produced by Nick Morales from No Sweat Productions. The album launch is taking place this evening during a live concert at Voice of a Generation, Ball Street, Paceville. The evening will be supported by Phyllis & Bertie with a particular special set for the occasion. The entrance fee has been set to €7 whilst in order to purchase a copy of the album, a special package of €10 has been set. If you did not purchase your tickets thus far, they will be at the door as well.
