Malta: Successful Comeback for Ira LoscoWritten by Marc Calleja Bayliss
High expectations can be quite tedious especially after having been away from a particular scene for too long and the same could be said with regards to the music industry noting that there has been a lot riding on the comeback of the renowned Ira Losco who first shot to fame after representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2002 with the track 7th Wonder composed by Philip Vella and penned by Gerard James Borg. Prior to her latest single, the female performer had released a studio album back in 2008 under the title Fortune Teller and it was quite a dark affair noting a strong pulsing guitar throughout most of the tracks. This time round though, it seems that Ira has gone slightly softer and her first single entitled What I'd Give shows her fans that she can adapt to different styles thus deciding on performing a song which easily falls under the reggae tab.
89.7 Bay was given the opportunity to play the song for the very first time noting that Wake Up With Dorian and Larissa were given the exclusivity by Jagged House who exclusively take care of Ira Losco and her music side of things. Following that first airing, it has been played quite regularly due to the fact that the people have been asking for it quite consistently, so much so that it even debuted on the Local Top Ten just a couple of days ago by virtue of charting in position number #7 making it the highest new entry of the week with the second one coming just behind it. Ira Losco is going to have quite a couple of busy months now noting that she is working on her latest studio album which should be released by the end of the year as well as the making of an official video for her current hit single. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com as we keep you posted on all of the latest Ira Losco news.
