The Malta Song for Europe has always represented some of the most interesting vocal performances that the country has scene and if one does go back in time, he would eventually realize that there have been a number acts which came about for a couple of years and then eventually vanish through time. One of those acts is none other than The Starbrights which featured two sisters, one of them by the name of Maria Lewis who is looking forward to re-launching her career as a soloist. In Malta, she has continuously appeared in a number of promotional activities. It seems that things are picking up for the local talent though due to the fact that she has most recently released a brand new single, a cover version of the renowned Ave Maria by Caccini. he pretty Maria Lewis recently spoke to SBS Radio in Australia about her latest single as well as her career which is somewhat picking up relatively quickly now that she is meeting the right people.

The Starbrights first took part in the Malta Song for Europe competition back in 1991 with the song Let's Be Good and their second performance in the event would ultimately come in 1995 when they took part with the track Goodbye. They never really challenged for the victory but nevertheless, they still managed to earn a name for themselves. They released their debut album entitled Jewel Box which sold quite well in Malta through leading music stores but ultimately, they did follow it up with another album, a compilation featuring thirteen (13) tracks was released under the title name Friends Forever. She went abroad with her sister, performing in various events including in countries such as Thailand, Australia and the United Kingdom amongst others. Her latest single which is a cover of the Ave Maria by Cacchini was released earlier this year to great reviews. One could instantly note that she has astonishing talent to compliment her beautiful looks. This might reflect the material that she is planning to release in just a couple of weeks time. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for more news about local artists who are doing their best to make a name for themselves.
