'The Celebrity Night' is a weekly television programme which has become somewhat synonymous with Saturday evening, is broadcast on F Living Channel. The series which officially kicked off at the beginning of October revolves around the one-to-one interviews, which speak of class, decadence and wit, and have become synonymous with Deo Grech's presenting style.

Debbie Scerri, a female vocalist, whose experience in the local music industry has flourished since winning the 1997 Malta Song for Europe with the song "Let Me Fly" written by Ray Agius, finishing in 9th place at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin, Ireland. She has since then taken part in L-Għanja tal-Poplu, the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, and the International Festival of Maltese Song, apart from representing the country in a number of foreign competitions, as well as touring. In recent years, she joined the project 'Animae Gospel Choir' led by Pamela Bezzina and Glen Vella, to much success. She is also a dedicated television host, having fronted the Spiteri Lucas Entertainment productions; "Sas-Sitta", "Sibt Familja", and "Se Niżżewġu".

Ina Robinich, the second guest of the programme this evening is also a skilled female vocalist, who gained positive repute following her masterful interpretation of the song "Wellidni" composed by Dominic Cini to the lyrics of Deo Grech. The song went onto win L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2004, amidst a flurry of discussion, noting that the subject was extremely fragile, and still is. Ina would perform in groups, duets, and solos, going onto reach the finals of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, and the Summer Hit Song Contest on more than one occasion.

The third guest is Veronica Farrugia, a skilled actress, known for her current portrayal of the character 'In-Nanna Carla' in the television drama 'Iċ-Ċaqqufa'. The fourth and final guest of the evening is Josette Sciberras, a fashionista and wife of renowned Maestro Dominic Galea. This and much more during this week's episode of 'The Celebrity Night' which airs on Saturday night at 20:30 on F Living Channel. Malta: Charity Song features Ensemble of Stars

In the past couple of years, charity has been one of the most pivotal aspects in the creation of a state, which while somewhat limited in resources, is not lacking in generosity, with record funds being targeted and achieved every year. "L-Istrina" is the most important charity event, with funds given to various organisations.

As a means of supporting this noble gesture, a theme song is recorded, and what is intriguing is that several familiar faces make an appearance, all in the face of charity. This year, the song is entitled "Int Min Int", and is composed by Dominic Cini to the lyrics of Giovann Attard with production entrusted to Elton Zarb of Freetime Productions.

"Int Min Int" features the vocals of; Amber (ESC 2015), Dominic (MESC 2015), Renato (ESC 1975) , Ina Robinich, Federica Falzon (JESC 2014), Gaia Cauchi (JESC 2013), La Barokka, Mary Spiteri (ESC 1992), Mary Rose Mallia, Noel Zarb, Georgina (ESC 1991), Janvil (MESC 2005-2006, 2009), Josmar, Iona Dalli (MESC 2015), Lawrence Gray (MESC 1998, 1999, 2001-2004, 2010, 2012, 2015), Ludwig Galea (ESC 2004), Deborah C (MESC 12-14).

We urge you to watch, and donate during this year's edition of "L-Istrina" as it is aired on Television Malta, ONE Television, NET Television, F Living and Smash Television during the traditional "Boxing Day", otherwise also known as the 26th December, the day following Christmas. SHSC 2014: In-Depth Interview with Ina Robinich

In recent years, the Malta Eurovision Song Contest has been the only local platform for songwriters and vocalists to produce original songs in English, but that has officially changed with the re-introduction of the Summer Hit Song Contest which returns to F Living as from the 14th July 2014. A total of 18 entries got through to the final stage of the competition with no less than 8 of them having already made it to the top of the music scene by virtue of reaching the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on at least one previous occasion.

We're going to chat to ALL the artists in contention so that you, our readers will have the opportunity to get to know them better. The eighth artist in our series of interviews is Ina Robinich, and the song which she is presenting bears the name "Summer Ladies" composed by Andrew Zahra to the lyrics of Rita Pace.

In Malta, the Eurovision Song Contest is a major outlet for the music industry, but then again, with such a mindset, what role does the return of the Summer Hit Song Contest have in your opinion and would you like it to be part of the music calendar?

Yes of course I would like that the Summer Hit Song Contest would be part of the music calendar.  It`s a good start for talented young singers to be among the finalists, and for those like me who never made it to the Eurovision Final they have the opportunity to release their original songs and show to the public that sometimes to make it to the Eurovision it`s not about the singer or the song but some luck.  Thanks to the organisers I can perform my song  Summer Ladies which song was submitted twice for the Eurovision entry but never made it to the final.

Ina, you’re an accomplished performer, having successfully partaken in competitions both on a local and a foreign level, yet original music bears something special. What keeps the fire burning for the thrill of recording something new in the studio?

Now a days in Malta the music industry is more competitive ,more opportunities and my motto always was If you can`t beat them, join them .   You have to be competitive and not stick to just your style of music and thanks God now a days we can work with foreign composers and authors.

Would you kindly introduce your entry to our readers and also identify the meaning behind the lyrics?

Summer Ladies is a fresh, summery song with latin rhythm.  It`s a fiesta song.  It gives a picture of how we Maltese Ladies spend the summer in our Sunny Malta, partying with friends.

One of the key elements which have transpired upon the return of the Summer Hit Song Contest is the promotion of each artist and entry. How has f living re-defined the competition and what has been the general public reaction?

I can say that f living made this Summer so Special for me.   Like every other artist every now and then you will need a good boost in your career and surely f living gave me this exposure during the Summer as I had a very good feedback regarding the song from the public.

Would you like to say anything to our readers at escflashmalta.com?

Thanks for all your support and thanks to ESCflashmalta for the latest news and updates.

In the words of Richard Stilgoe, it seems that there's a light at the end of the tunnel wherever the 2014 edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza is concerned with the organising committee chaired by Claudette Buttigieg publishing an updated list of semi-finalists. This comes into effect for the simple reason that each vocalist is only permitted to perform just ONE song from the television phase onwards.

At a glance, it seems that out of the SEVEN songs that Domenique had initially qualified with to the second phase, there will still be THREE in the competition with "Mara" composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Paul Ellul being the one she will be performing herself, "Ħamsin Sena Nazzjon" composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas to the lyrics of Paul Ellul being performed in a duet featuring Kaya and Nicole Brincat and "Passaġġ" written by Clinton Paul with a yet to be announced performer.

In the meantime, Josef Tabone has decided to withdraw his second song "Orrizonti" composed by Minik to the lyrics of Stephen Baldacchino as initially reported on escflashmalta.com earlier this morning, meaning that another five entries have been brought into the list, according to the number of points received during the second phase of the competition where the judges were; Olivia Lewis, Andrew Attard, Mro Maurizio Schembri, Sharon Deguara Cipriott and Noel D’Anastas.

Tħobbni Kif Jien - Phylisienne Brincat (Philip Vella / Christopher Azzopardi)

The FIVE entries that have now managed to sneak into the Top 30 are none other than; "Ensemble" composed by Minik to the lyrics of Stephen Baldacchino with vocals provided by Johanna Galea, "Ġrajjiet" composed by Minik to the lyrics of Stephen Baldacchino with vocals provided by Michela Dallia, "Ħolma ta' Nazzjon" composed by Mark Debono to the lyrics of Rita Pace with vocals provided by Cherylis Camilleri, "Miraklu" composed by Gillian Attard to the lyrics of Rita Pace with vocals provided by Ashlee Amber and "Ngħidulek Grazzi" composed by Minik to the lyrics of Stephen Baldacchino.

The final change that we could denote in the list below is that Geordie DeBono has opted to keep "Tħobbni Kif Jien" composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Christopher Azzopardi, in the competition with veteran performer; Phyllisienne Brincat. Only two songs remain without a performer at the moment, those being the aforementioned "Passaġġ" and "Mixja li Bdiet" composed by Renato Briffa to the lyrics of Alfred E Baldacchino.
