In 1956, following the aftermath of the Second World War, it was decided that a music competition was to be held, eyeing to strengthen the economy and lighten up the mood. It is quite remarkable, that the same competition, the Eurovision Song Contest is still running strong in 2015. In previous days, we featured Deo Grech, and his reviews, interviewed one of the acts, and also publishing any visual resources which our team is bound to produce.
With such a strong following in Malta, escflashmalta.com has enlisted the support of nine celebrities in Malta, all of whom are familiar faces in the music industry, who will help assess the quality of the songs, and also the vocalists, in what has been coined as an extremely interesting edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, full of emotion and quality.
During the first semi-final (19th May), the dubious honour will be given to; Lyndsay, a female singer/songwriter who has been through to the semi-final stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, apart from having countless hits on local airwaves, "Letter 25" and "Daphne"; Christabelle, a two-time participant in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and most notably the first runner-up late in 2014 with the song "Rush". and finally, Marilena Gauci, a female vocalist who has also twice been to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and also being a former representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
During the second semi-final (21st May), the chosen celebrity bloggers include; Karen DeBattista, a female vocalist and winner of L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2014 with "Jien Ma Naħdimx" as well as to being a finalist in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015; Marie Claire Attard Bason, another female vocalist who has been a part of the local festival circuit for a couple of years, getting through to the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, L-Għanja tal-Poplu and the Summer Hit Song Contest on several occasions and Claudia Faniello, a female singer/songwriter, sister of two-time representative Fabrizio Faniello, and a two-time runner-up in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
During the final night (23rd May), the dubious honour will be given to; Brooke Borg, a female singer/songwriter whose local radio releases have led to her being nominated for Best Single, and Best Solo Artist on countless occasions; Davinia, a female singer/songwriter who has taken part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions, even finishing in 3rd place back in 2013 with the song "Betrayed", and last but not least; Danica Muscat, an artist who kicked off her career in the Junior Eurosong, before reaching the Malta Eurovision Song Contest on at least 3 occasions.
All the LIVE blogging will be done through the Official Accounts on Facebook and Twitter, so whilst urging you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com as the main portal, we hope that you will follow our comments throughout the rest of the week, and also share your opinion on the songs competing in this year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Vienna, Austria.

On the 21st and 22nd November, the Public Broadcasting Services will be hosting the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest at the Marsa Shipbuilding. 20 acts will be taking centre stage, in hope of representing the country at next year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, being held in Vienna, Austria. Over the next couple of weeks, escflashmalta.com will be publishing a series of interviews with all the participants. Whilst thanking the Public Broadcasting Services for this opportunity, we are pleased to introduce Lyndsay.
Would you kindly introduce your entry to our readers and also identify the meaning behind the lyrics?
Hello dear readers :D my song is entitled “Home”, written and produced by Boris Cezek. It’s a power ballad which talks about the journey of finding a place where you belong and being loved endlessly.
In Malta, the Eurovision Song Contest is considered to be a major outlet for the music industry, and you stand here as one of the semi-finalists. What does the whole experience mean to you?
This experience is undoubtedly a turning point in my music career and such a golden opportunity to express my talents on a wider scale, being the most popular local festival in Malta. It’s my first time in the festival and I’m very excited to be opening the show on the night!
Recently, Malta has been rather successful at the Eurovision Song Contest, making the final on four of the last five participation attempts. What do you think is the reason for this success, and do you believe that your entry has what it takes to continue this positive trend?
Well, I think there are many reasons for this success. First and foremost, I’m very happy that we are finally learning to give a chance to the new comers and appreciate real music. I also think that there has been so much improvement in general and I believe that it’s completely fair for the jury to cast their final votes, choosing the winner based on a wise decision.
I think that my Eurovision entry is strong enough to stand out and I believe that I have a professional team behind me to give my very best on the night. I also think that the song brings out the potential in my voice and it suits me perfectly as an artist. It would be such an honour to represent my country in the contest and I feel ready to carry out the responsibility!
If you were given the opportunity to sing another one of the competing entries in the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which one would it be and why?
Hmmm…well there are my favourites of course but I still wouldn’t sing another song from the competing entries as I feel that my entry is too special and made especially for me on a personal note.
Do you have any plans to release more music in the future, and do you have any particular projects in the pipeline?
Yes :D my music career is like a roller coaster ride from one opportunity to another and I just love it! In fact, I’m working on a very exciting project at the moment were I have been handpicked to work on a debut album collaborating with professional management to be exposed towards international labels and markets in the music industry for the upcoming year. Fingers crossed!
Would you like to say anything to our readers at escflashmalta.com?
I would like to thank everyone for the ongoing support and feedback towards my song and participation in the festival. It has been such a fun journey so far and I just can’t wait for the final night. May the best song win!
In the meantime, make sure to keep an eye posted for any upcoming projects, single releases and latest news on my official website: www.lyndsaypace.com
Also :D keep up the great work escflashmalta.com and thank you for always supporting the local artists!
In just 4 weeks, Malta will have a national final, in hope of selecting the best possible entry to represent the nation at next year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. The selection, spread over two nights, on the 21st and 22nd November, is set to take place at the Marsa Shipbuilding and will feature a host of well known and upcoming stars, all vying to present themselves in a professional manner, in hope of gauging public reaction and receiving support.
Earlier this afternoon, the Public Broadcasting Services published the Official Music Videos accompanying the entries competing in what has been dubbed the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Recorded at WE Media Studios, the genres of the competing entries are varied, although one thing is clear, this is a different Mediterranean country than what the public were used to several years ago with the level of production having significantly improved, following investment in the local music market.
As the saga officially comes to a beginning, escflashmalta.com would like to introduce the Public Award, which will be returning for a third consecutive occasion. You may select your favourite entry competing in the 2014-2015 Malta Eurovision Song Contest by clicking on this webpage. We urge you to stay tuned to this portal, even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

'The Celebrity Night' is the new Saturday night show which will be broadcast at 20:30 on F Living Channel. The series which officially kicked off last week, revolved around the one-to-one interviews, which speak of class, decadence and wit, and have become synonymous with Deo Grech's presenting style.
Tonight's special guests are the singer/songwriter, Lyndsay; former Eurovision Song Contest representative, Olivia Lewis and actor Heinrich Camilleri. In the meantime, Fiona Vella from Fiona Couture and Natius Farrugia join in the second part of the show for the Celebrity Discussion. This and much more during the first show of the series 'The Celebrity Night' tonight at 20:30 on F Living Channel. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the local music scene.

It’s hard to believe that the Public Broadcasting Services already has a line-up for the next edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with twenty entries set to compete for the ticket to represent Malta in Vienna, Austria. The national final, set to take place at the Marsa Shipbuilding on the 21st and 22nd November will be featuring a host of well known and upcoming stars, all vying to present their work, and garner the respect of the general public and the professional panel of judges.
During the course of the weekend, the Public Broadcasting Services will be recording the Official Music Videos which will accompany the entries over the next couple of weeks. According to the rules and regulations, all the qualified entries could have been re-mastered, without the additional change in melodic structure, as has been the case in recent years. This will ensure that the competition is of the highest quality and that everyone would have done their utmost to present the best possible product.

With the recording of the Official Music Videos taking place this weekend, it is expected that they are published soon after. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the 2015 Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
Lyndsay, a female singer/songwriter with countless hit singles to her name, including "Daphne" and "Letter 25", is definitely not one to shy away from a challenge, as noted with the release of her latest single, "Regent Street", written by singer/songwriter jon lukas woodenman and produced by Niki Gravino. Whilst having grown accustomed to performing a mixture of ballads, Lyndsay has decided to move away from her comfort zone with this brand new single, due to the idea of a less commercial sound.
Nevertheless, radio stations have picked up the track relatively quickly, and the reviews have been extremely positive. In support of the release, the female singer/songwriter has also issued a music video, which features the busy street life in the United Kingdom, as well as jon lukas woodenman himself. Whilst this particular sound is very much, like it or hate it, we sway towards the former, and well done to Lyndsay on trying something different. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the local music scene.
On the 21st and 22nd November, the Public Broadcasting Services will be hosting the 2014-2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest within the Marsa Shipbuilding, host venue of this year's edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. 20 acts, as revealed on the program 'Xarabank' last Friday evening, will have the opportunity to perform on an incredible stage, one which has been specifically designed for an international competition.
15 acts have already been part of the prestigious showcase in the past, and these are none other than; Glen Vella, Trilogy, Franklin Calleja, Deborah C, Daniel Testa, Lawrence Gray, Amber, Jessika, Christabelle, L-Aħwa, Chris Grech, Raquel Galdes, Danica Muscat, Corazon and Domenique.
