Janice Mangion, one of Malta’s leading vocalists, a solo singer in her own right, and also a member of the Animae Gospel Choir has recently launched her debut single, an r’n’b soul ballad with a pulsing beat entitled “Burnin”, composed by Elton Zarb and penned by Emil Calleja Bayliss.
In the initial stages of the creative process, Janice sought a meaningful message, one which helps those who find themselves in moments of despair, thinking that their faith has abandoned them completely. This, accompanied by her soulful voice creates an exceptionally beautiful song. Aiding in the recorded was the talented Angela Spiteri who provided a strong backing vocal.
“Burnin”, which is available from streaming and purchase on all major digital platforms has been released through CAP Sounds, a record label based in Germany with full distribution handled by Universal Music Germany. Manfred Holz of the aforementioned company stated ‘Janice has an incredible vocal range which we are proud to represent, and we believe that “Burnin” showcases her talent in the best possible way’.
In support of the single, which was officially released on Friday 23rd September, Janice Mangion and her team, led by Marc Calleja Bayliss of Ironic PR & Artist Management thought it best to work on a lyric video, commissioning visionaries Angie and Duane Laus, with the result officially made public on Thursday 29th September.
Janice Mangion would like to thank everyone who has supported the release of this song from day one, and would like to thank her team of sponsors, and also the media outlets who have been in touch to help in any way. Due to the fact that a compilation album with all the songs competing in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest was not issued since 2011, a number of record labels, including CAP-Sounds and Jagged House have stepped in, with the hope of releasing the songs through digital services such as iTunes, Deezer, and Spotify for the general public to purchase or stream.
"Still Here" written by Alexander Rybak, "Chasing a Dream" written by Paul Abela and Joe Julian Farrugia as well as "Something in the Way" written by Mans Ek and Charlie Mason, performed by Franklin Calleja, Trilogy and Daniel Testa are the three songs which have been made available thus far, all through the German based company, CAP-Sounds, who have a distribution deal in place with Universal Music Germany.
"Still Here" and "Chasing a Dream" have been the most successful of the three thus far, both managing to peak at number #2 on the iTunes Chart in Malta, kept off the top spot by Band Aid 30 and their cover of the song "Do They Know It's Christmas?" We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

Claudia Faniello, one of the finalists in this years' edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest is somewhat continuing the successful trends of releasing material through a digital store because following the earlier release of Deborah C, she follows with her entry When It's Time co-written alongside Errol Sammut of Airport Impressions. The formidable female performer decided to rebrand her image in the competition and has taken up a genre which she has been somewhat playing about with for quite some time, noting pop/rock influences in the form of Movie In My Mind composed by Philip Vella and penned by Gerard James Borg back in 2011.
Finishing in fifth place with the public, and seventh place with the jury out of a selection process which comprised of sixteen songs was quite intriguing for her new genre, with the final placing being seventh in total. When It's Time has received positive comments across the board and now you could also own a copy of the version as presented during the festival by purchasing it through iTunes where it has been digitally released by CAP-Sounds, the same company with which Claudia Faniello had released her debut album, Convincingly Better back a couple of years back. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about artists within the local music scene as soon as it becomes available.

Deborah C, one of the finalists in this years' edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the track Love-O-Holic composed by Johan Bejerholm and penned by Gerard James Borg, has just released her entry onto digital store, iTunes. The recording, production and distribution is being taken care off by CAP-Sounds, noting that the songwriter has worked with Fabrizio Faniello in the past, and with Deborah C being the backing vocalist for No Surrender that year, it doesn't come as a surprise really. It has already appeared in the top two hundred (200) on iTunes in the past couple of hours, so people have already started to purchase their copy.
The local performer has come out of nowhere, to lead the music scene in the country following her successful triumph at the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with the song Jekk Nużaw Moħħna composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas to the lyrics of Joe Chircop. Love-O-Holic was the second entry that Deborah C performed at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest having qualified in 2012 with the song You Make Me Go Uh Uh featuring Leila J but this was the first time she made it into the top ten, by virtue of a ninth place finish. You make purchase your copy of the sound file by visiting iTunes. It will be receiving airplay on several radio station in Europe.
