Following the semi-final stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016, where 19 artists and 20 entries were presented, 14 entries made the final cut, all of which will be presented in a brand new running order later on this evening, during the grand final, hosted by Ben Camille.
The entries were chosen by a five-member professional jury comprising of; Nick Clark-Lowes, Vyara Ankova, Sabrija Vulic, Luke Fisher, and Quinton Scerri, with the public vote acting as another juror. Below, you may find the running order of this evenings' proceedings. Preceding the show, on Television Malta (TVM), all the acts will be welcomed on the Red Carpet with hosts Daniel Chircop and Rodney Gauci.

The Public Broadcasting Services has just released the running order of the semi-final of the 2016 Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which is taking place on the 22nd January at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Hosted by Ben Camille, the show will feature 20 original entries, sung by 19 participants, all vying to represent the Mediterranean country of Malta in the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Stockholm, Sweden.
All the above acts will get the opportunity to perform LIVE in front of a professional panel of judges, and the general public who will be applauding from the venue, and at home. Together, they will select 14 artists, those who stand a very good chance of representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.

On the 22nd and 23rd January 2015, the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) will be hosting the 2016 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) in Valletta, the capital city of the smallest nation in the European Union.
'Xarabank', synonomous with the revelation of the 20 finalists, took place a couple of hours ago, laying down this years' crop of participants, a perfect mixture of newcomers, and veterans. At first listen, off the 1 minute snippets, it seems that the standard of songs is relatively high, not too mention that the genres are quite varied, laying down the foundations for an exciting semi-final stage.

An interesting fact about the 19 participants in this years' competition, is that 12 of them have either been to the national pre-selection on another occasion, or else been to the Eurovision Song Contest itself, meaning that the rest, a total of 7 are complete newcomers to the competition, despite most of them having already made other appearances in the local music scene. On the 11th December, Xarabank will kick-off for another season, and it will do so with a bang, as the revelation of the acts through to the semi-final of the 2016 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be made public. Following the initial submission process, where the Public Broadcasting Services received 153 entries, a shortlist of 49 entries has now been published through the official website.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Malta was triumphant on "Una Stella Sta Nascendo", an Italian television programme which airs on Sky Italia. This year, the list of finalists included; Ethan Attard & Miguel Bonello, Mikhail Attard, Kelsey Bellante, Giorgia Borg, Kelsie Borg, Kassidy Calleja, Cherylis, Kelsey Farrugia, Kiana Fenech, Emma Muscat and Rachel Lowell. At the end of the adventure, Giorgia Borg, Rachel Lowell, and Cherylis won their respective sections, whilst Emma Muscat ended up becoming the overall winner.
The resident jury, a set of professional music industry professionals were impressed with the Maltese singers and said that they elevated the level, with an impeccable level of singing. "Una Stella Sta Nascendo" has been a highly successful event for upcoming talent noting the previous successes of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 winner; Gaia Cauchi and radio sensation; Maxine Pace.
After participation in this competition, Gillian Attard, vocal director of La Voix Academy is in discussion with producers of Disney Channel Italia to see whether Emma would be a possible fit, and thus continue elevating her status, abroad. On the 11th November, female singer/songwriter, Maxine Pace will be releasing her third solo single, “Take Me Back” through the programme “Big Time” which airs daily on NET Television. Co-written alongside Ramzi and produced by RDS Studios in London, United Kingdom, the song features a boppy tune, one which has become somewhat attributed to the young artist.
Maxine Pace will definitely recall 2014 as to being a landmark year in her career, having started off the year with a Best New Artist nomination at the Malta Music Awards, and moving onto the release of her sophomore single “Alive”, also co-written with Ramzi, and last but not least, being given the role to co-host two shows; “KKI Junior” as “Big Time”. Maxine Pace, a female singer/songwriter whose debut single "Fed Up" quickly rose to the upper echelons of Malta's Top Ten with Nathan D on 89.7 Bay is back with a new track, "Alive". Co-written by Maxine and Ramzi, the song speaks about the carefree months of summer, and how one should always be ready for the next challenge by virtue of being alive.
Maxine Pace was nominated for Best New Artist at this year's edition of the Malta Music Awards held in February, finding herself in great company alongside; Norbert, Andi and Plan Zero, the latter being the eventual winners. In less than 2 days, on the 7th August, the Għaxaq Music Festival in collaboration with La Voix Academy will be putting on a nationwide concert featuring Gaia Cauchi, Federica Falzon, Ludwig Galea, Vincenzo Carni, Davinia, Marco Vito, Shauna Vassallo and Maxine Pace, all of whom will be accompanied by a LIVE orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joseph Chircop.
