Malta: Airport Impressions to Tour in Sweden

The strides of improvement that the local music industry has underwent in the past couple of years has been beyond overwhelming noting that Jagged House alone now represents some of the most professional and successful artists around including the likes of former Eurovision Song Contest representative; Ira Losco who is currently planning to release a brand new album following an extended quiet period as well as other groups such as Tribali, The Rifffs and of course, Airport Impressions who continue to impress their ever growing fan base. In recent years, Eileen Montesin has taken up the challenge to host a reality television singing programme entitled Don't Stop Me Now starting out with a mixture of professionals and amateurs back on favourite television two years ago before moving to upcoming individuals in the last two editions, last years' as shown on Television Malta (TVM) and this year on NET Television respectively. This evening will mark the final of the third edition although, one could easily say that it has already come to an end noting that the leader in terms of points, Franklin Calleja cannot be hindered from the top position due to his overwhelming lead. Age is only just a number and indeed, this is surely the case for the upcoming artist known as Domenique who brings in several experiences to help aid our profile build up noting that she has been in most competitions held within the local music scene, with the most prominent surely being the Junior Eurosong competition where she has made the most appearances. Years have gone by and thus, the experiences in that particular showcase come to an end with the future looking extremely bright. Malta: Brand New Single Release by Brooke

Brooke, a talented artist who has most recently showed the strength of her music prowess through the song Fairytale returns to the local music scene following her departure to the United Kingdom where she is currently studying Interior Design at the University of Kensington. The difference of styles that the masterful performer can carry is somewhat outstanding and it is the case that many people remember her growing up participating in a number of competitions in Malta especially the Junior Eurosong where she was denied victory on a couple of occasions including with a possible stunner had it went abroad but nevertheless, she has held her head up high and continues to truly shine. Malta: 'Dream a Little Dream' as Voices Returns

Voices, the spectacular event which is staged every other year in support of charity actually noting that volunteers dedicate their summer to rehearsals before undoubtely taking to the stage in order to literally blow the audience out of their minds when it comes to song selections and performances. As has been the case in the past couple of editions, the showcase is being sponsored by Vodafone Malta and will be staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta from the 3rd to the 7th as well as the 10th and the 14th of October at 19:30 CET as well as a Matinee show at 15:30 CET on the final day of the first batch. Voices will be organised with the theme Dream a Little Dream and indeed, it seems that the saying does goes to show what happens in the actual performances especially when you have the likes of former…

KKI 2012: The Introduction of Live Backing Vocals

 One of the competitions which proudly promotes upcoming talent as well as the Maltese language as a leading form of communication through the world of the arts is the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza and for the very first time this year, there were a number of changes brought in to the competition, one of them being the 60% Jury and the 40% Tele-Voting split in the Talent Å»agħżugħ portion of the competition as well as the addition of LIVE backing vocals to have that special something to the song both the aforementioned category as well as that featuring the Talent Stabbilit. Malta: Klinsmann Singing Lead in Planet Seed

Klinsmann burst onto the local music scene at a relatively young age noting his initial appearances in the Junior Eurosong competition with tracks such as Time Is Running Out and Warzone Children but nevertheless, he would get his big break by virtue of the 2007 edition of the Malta Song for Europe submitting the song She Gives Me Wings composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas and penned by Rita Pace finishing in third place behind the likes of Olivia Lewis who competed with Vertigo composed by Philip Vella and penned by Gerard James Borg and ultimately triumphed and Trilogy who performed the classical crossover Starlight composed by Paul Abela to the lyrics of Joe Julian Farrugia. Malta: The Voice of an Enchantress

The Maltese Islands have been truly gifted with some astonishing vocals throughout the years, some of which have shined at particular moments and others which just amaze at any given point in time. One of the latter is surely that of Corazon who brings about a touch of warmth and peace to every track, especially ones which are specifically written for her either in Maltese or English. Looking back through a personal record collection, it has to be noted that her very first outing within a competition came at the 2005 edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza where she had performed the track L-IrÄ¡iel which she co-wrote alongside her mother Mariella but nevertheless, things have changed a lot since then and so has her respective genre with fast, uptempo pop songs seemingly set aside giving way to slow, piano ballads which are much more suited to her voice and soothing…

Talent is already a blessing for any individual due to the fact that it is expressed publicly for the enjoyment of flocks of people but when it is exported to foreign shores, it takes a different dimension, one which should be appreciated even more with several more individuals getting to know about the artist along with the respective culture brought about through personality and biography. One of such singers is surely John Galea, who lives in the United Kingdom and has Maltese heritage. Malta: Olivia Lewis May Return to Festival

Comebacks have definitely become a current thing both in the local and foreign music industries but nevertheless, when it comes to our shores, it seems that they tend to become more predominant and likely noting that Olivia Lewis has been rife about the possibility of returning to music with several appearances in a number of high profile shows but unfortunately not having the opportunity to return to the stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest due to the rules specifying that the last five winners of the local competition could not submit in the past two years.
