During these past few years, the annual Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza has been growing due to the fact that new minds were brought in to make sure that the showcase moves into a modern era where music speaks to the listeners especially when it is in an official language of the country. This is the case with this competition noting that it is only one of the two that showcase Maltese in terms of music. A number of poets have long been trying to get the people to appreciate the language but when done in song, it could be assessed even further noting that people tend to hum lyrics to the melody. The 2012 edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza features a variety of participants who are somewhat representing the dawn of a new age noting that most of them are either newcomers or those who have gained popularity in just…
Leading ladies have always had a major role in the local music industry but nevertheless, it seems that there has been one who wanted not only to stick around for a while but ultimately dominate and export her music abroad, something that she has managed to do quite successfully. Ira Losco along with her management have worked her career out carefully noting a sound which has developed gradually and an image which has always been adapted to the particular sound. Music releases have not been scarce noting that since 2002, she has gone onto release six (6) different albums, four (4) of which had original material and the other two (2) including acoustic and remix versions of other songs which had been previously released. Earlier this morning, Ira Losco released the first single What I'd Give off her upcoming album through 89.7 Bay who are collaborative partners on escflashmalta.com noting…
The Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza remains to this present day as one of the most prestigious events in the local music calender especially due to the fact that the entries presented within the competition have to be in Maltese, the national language of the country. There has been a tendency for shunning the language away in the past but nevertheless, when it comes to music, it has been growing for quite a long time. One of the mission statements of escflashmalta.com is to promote the music scene to full capacity and therefore, this year, we are coordinating with Media.Link Communications to give more insight on the entries and their respective performers. The presentation of the tracks which will be somewhat, two per week has been done in completely random order. The first entry to be further analyzed further is the one entitled Id-Demm ta' Raymond composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas, penned…
The staging of every competition requires a team of dedicated personnel and last years' edition of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza won by Mike Spiteri and his song B'Rieda Tal-Azzar was one of the most innovative thus far noting that seating was introduced for the very first time. This year, things are going to continue improving on what was built during the twentieth edition noting that Media.Link Communications has always been fully fledged to support local talent of all kinds. This years' competition features a mixture of newcomers and established personnel but what is clear is that those who were competing in the junior ranks not too long ago have now found their way amongst the elite it seems. Indifest has been picked up for yet another season in aid of the competition and this year, it will be bigger and better than it has been in the past so stay…
There's no business like show business indeed and the music industry does not sleep at any times noting that artists have to put in the effort to succeed otherwise the achievements will be somewhat minimal. It is imperative to note that sometimes, the public have the ball in their court when it comes to the coming together of an individual career and this very much seems to be the case with Julie Zahra, whom many will surely recall as being a former representative for Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest joining then partner Ludwig Galea for a stunning rendition of the track On Again ... Off Again which reached the finals finishing in twelfth place when competing in Istanbul, Turkey. Nevertheless, Julie started her career as a soloist before joining forced as a duet coming up with some great tracks along the way. Going back twelve to thirteen years ago…
The local music scene has not always proven positive throughout time but nevertheless, it seems that currently, things are very much thriving noting that artists are putting their music out there and even getting the opportunity to perform abroad. One has to gain recognition locally and having a strong management, dedicated to bringing the best out of a performer musically and that is what has been done with the likes of Brooke, Red Electrick, Airport Impressions, Carrie Haber and Ira Losco for example. Nevertheless, an upcoming band by the name of Dry Connections seems to be making the rounds at the moment and like The Crowns, emerging at a rapid rate. Having come together just three years ago, the group have achieved quite a lot in just a short span of time and have a lot of work to do in order to continue on their road to success. It…

There has been consistent talk that the runner-up of one year does indeed try again in the following year…
