AvroTros, the broadcaster responsible for the Dutch participation at the Eurovision Song Contest as of next year is apparently facing financial difficulties from the get-go due to the economic crisis that has been circling the continent in recent years. For this simple reason, a national final might not be organised with the broadcaster seeking to appoint either a songwriter or a vocalist with the aim of achieving positive results for the Netherlands at the annual Pan-European competition. Armin van Buuren, one of the leading DJs in the world has offered to pen the entry which will represent the country next year in Denmark.

The renowned artist is currently at his peak with his latest album entitled Intense reaching a high of #37 in the United Kingdom, #2 in The Netherlands, #16 in Germany and #65 in the United States. The sophomore single off the album bearing the name This is What it Feels Like peaked at number #2 in The Netherlands, #6 in the United Kingdom and #13 in Australia. Armin stated that if he was asked to write the song, he would be careful in selecting the artist as she or he would have to carry the performance. Earlier this year, Anouk took to the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Birds which she helped co-write with Tore Johansson and Martin Gjerstad. The finish was just about right with the nation qualifying to the final for the very first time since 2004, reaching the top ten for the very first time since 1999. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.
