Emmelie de Forest, a young and talented female vocalist from Denmark swooped to victory at the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Only Teardrops co-written by Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jakobsen and Thomas Stengaard. At the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, she was not one of the initial favourites but nevertheless managed to convince both the public and the jury alike following a stunning performance on the night of the final. DR, the national broadcaster responsible for the participation of Denmark is currently pre-producing next years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest whilst also revealing details about the next national selection process.

Rasmus Ladefoged, entertainment editor for the editor went on record stating that 'the last time Denmark hosted the Eurovision Song Contest', they came in second place with 'Rollo & King', ultimately adding 'If we can do a little better next year, I'll be happy'. Last year, Denmark received an astonishing record amount of submissions for their selection process following the disappointing result achieved by Soluna Samay and her entry Should've Known Better and the tally stood at 692 entries. It is expected that the number will be greater than 700 on this occasion. It is quite funny as ultimately only six (6) songs are selected as the broadcaster invites three (3) to four (4) songwriters to write songs as well. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news.
