In 2002, Javine Hylton was part of a reality television talent show known as Popstars: The Rivals on commercial channel, ITV where the final result saw her being the only one eliminated in the creation of the nations' biggest girlband ever, Girls Aloud. Shortly after, she embarked on a solo career signing with Virgin Records, and going onto release debut album, Surrender and hit single Real Things which peaked at number #4 in the British Charts. As the album fared badly in terms of sales, Javine thought she could do with a bit of a boost and thus entered the selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest where her competition included; Gina G, a former representative; Katie Price, a reality show television star; Andy Scott-Lee, brother of Lisa Scott-Lee of Steps fame and a brand new pop/opera group known as Tricolore.

At the end of the pre-selection, it was Javine who was selected to represent the United Kingdom and went to Kiev, Ukraine with the backing of the general public, with the bookies seeing her finish in eighth place. It was not meant to be though as her entry Touch My Fire could only muster eighteen (18) points to finish in twenty-second (22nd) position. Javine disappeared from the music industry in the years that followed but it seems that 2013 might be her comeback year having lent her vocals to a WAWA and M.A.R.K. track entitled Never which has been playlisted on BBC Radio 1, the nations' most influential radio station. It's a dance song which has a magnificient beat and which accompanies the vocals in a sublime manner. Stay tund to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
