My Number One, performed by Helena Paparizou on behalf of Greece at the 2005 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest was the outright winner, pushing Angel sung to perfection by Chiara for Malta into second place. The Greek/Swedish vocalist is hoping for a return to the elite competition by virtue of accepting a wildcard to perform at the 2014 edition of the Melodifestivalen with a song written by Bobby Ljunggren, Henrik Wikström and contributor Sharon Vaughn. The song, which is described as a catchy pop anthem will also be featuring on Paparizou's upcoming studio album which will be exclusively released from the Scandinavian market.

SVT, the broadcaster responsible for the participation of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest is currently lining up some astonishing acts for the competition including; Linda Bengtzing, Sanna Nielsen, Dr Alban and Yohio. The news was hinted by the tabloid Aftonbladet but our friends and colleagues from OIKOTIMES were in a position to confirm this news item. Former winners of the Eurovision Song Contest have had mixed fortunes upon their return to the competition as seen with Dana Internation with her entry Ding Dong which failed to reach the final in 2011. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news about Sweden's participation in the illustious event.
