The Baseballs, a predominant band based in Germany whose genre of rock and roll has made a splash across the whole continent, is apparently being touted as one of the acts to compete in the German national final for the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The groups' debut studio album, Strike, released in 2009 managed to enter the charts at several top ten positions in around nine countries. The success would be repeated with the third studio album, Strings 'n' Stripes, released two years later which managed top ten positions in seven countries.

ARD, the German broadcaster responsible for the participation of Germany at the International Competition is yet to reveal any details with regards to the acts putting their name forward for the pre-selection process. It is expected that a press release will follow in the next couple of weeks as the line-up is being finalised by the broadcaster in conjuction with major record labels. Lou Bega, a one hit wonder has also confirmed his interest into possibly going to the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Germany, with the hope of rekindling his career. Another group who is being pushed into the process is Mrs Greenbird who had a number #1 album earlier this year. Stay tuned to about the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
