At the 2013 edition of the International Festival of Maltese Song, the foreign category was won by one of the acts representing Germany, that being the group Bella Vista with the track Fremd Aber Doch Vertraut, originally known as Sal-Aħħar by Fabrizio Faniello. Bella Vista, a German group comprising of Scarlet Breedy, Conny Schoen, Thomas Jünger and Petra Jünger are represented by Manfred Holz, of CAP Sounds. It is worth noting that Manfred, has supported most of the entries that have represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest and also happens to be manager of Fabrizio Faniello.

Bella Vista have a growing reputation in Germany and have selected Fremd Aber Doch Vertraut as their lead single off the studio album Stark. Supporting the release of the single through digital store, iTunes is a music video, one which was shot in Malta. Jose Herrera, Parliamentary Secretary for Culture and the Local Council has already confirmed that the International Festival of Maltese Song will be returning in 2014. The committee led by Josette Grech Hamilton has already confirmed that there will be slight amendments to the format.
