Eoghan Quigg, one (1) of the five (5) artists hoping to represent Ireland in the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with The Movie Song written by Karl Broderick, is seemingly garnering a fair share of endorsements from celebrities across the nation with Shane Filan; former lead vocalist of Westlife, Olly Murs; a former X Factor runner-up and most successful male vocalist to come out from the show  and Shayne Ward; a former UK X Factor winner both hoping the young twenty-one (21) year old will get the opportunity to fly the flag for Ireland, the most successful nation to compete at the continental competition.

This does not really come as a surprise to many, considering that the mentor behind Eoghan Quigg is none other than Mark Murphy, tour manager of Olly Murs and therefore, an individual who has contacts with SYCO Media and the legendary Simon Cowell. Eoghan Quigg was the second runner-up in the UK X Factor, during a year which is renowned for the likes of Alexandra Burke, JLS and Diana Vickers, who in turn was his girlfriend, was a short period following the show. His self-titled debut album peaked at number #1 in Ireland and #14 in the United Kingdom and was dropped by his label as a result.

Taking a couple of years off and finishing off his studies, Eoghan believes that it is the right time to attempt a comeback into the music industry by virtue of representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest. The songwriter of the track, Karl Broderick, has already been to the continental event with his entry Love? performed by Donna & Joe McCaul, which did not get through to the final, despite an astonishing performance. The Movie Song is current, fresh and very radio friendly, deserving of the ticket to represent the country. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for more of the latest news.
