ESC 2014: iTunes Madness as Competition Kicks Off

As the competition is about to get started. The 2014 entries are still receiving success in Europe’s music charts. Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Spain have all managed to stay in the charts in at least three other countries. Molly has managed a top 40 placing in the UK, which has proved difficult for the majority of UK entries for the past 15 years especially this close to the competition.

I cannot recall when Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Malta, Belarus and Finland all had a spot in the top 40 prior to the competition. Malta (one of the smallest participating countries) is also still in the Swedish Top 100, whilst all three Scandinavian countries are still in their native top 40s. They appear to have drummed up a lot of home support this year and it is impressive given the amount of time that has passed since the national finals.

Whilst this alone is probably not a good indication of the likely winner, it is certainly reassuring to see that the competition’s music is still getting airplay. Even those with lower betting odds are still managing to hold on to places across the continent. Stay tuned to even on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.
