Greece: Federica Amongst Eurostar Award Nominees

It has become custom for the international fansite to organise the "Eurostar Award" in recognition for the hard work or special talent of a given individual, in line with events organised by the European Broadcasting Union or any of the member states. Malta is represented by no less than three acts; Federica Falzon (JESC 2014), Ekklesia Sisters (MESC 2015) and Nathalie Bonnici (JESC 2014 Transport Coordinator). Cast your vote by clicking here.

With 10 nominees on the list, one has to denote that it features no less than 3 previous winners of the Eurovision Song Contest; Conchita Wurst (2014), Alexander Rybak (2009), Ruslana Lyzhychko (2004) as well as former participants; Sanna Nielsen (Sweden 2014), Alex Panayi (Cyprus 1995, 2000) and András Kállay-Saunders (Hungary 2014). The 2013 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is already three months old and the winner, Emmelie de Forest has just unveiled the name of her follow-up single, that being Hunter and Pray whilst Denmark are calling for entries to next years' pre-selection procedure. Time Flies! We would like to invite you to the weekly Ultimate Eurovision Experience. Apart from the means of FM Radio in the Netherlands on FM 106.8 and the audio stream from the studio via and on Digital Cable 781 & Cable 8.1Mhz in the Netherlands, the show will also be web-televised via the Radio International TV Channel from the studio and linking up the many international Eurovision fans and friends and play your requests and read your messages out on air. The simulcast will be from 2000 – 2300 hours CET when fans can join in and chat amongst each other via the Chat Room and request their favourite Eurovision entry.

The focal point of the programme this week is none other than Kurt Calleja, the male vocalist who represented Malta at the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. His entry This is The Night which he co-wrote alongside Johan J'Amtberg and Mikael Gunneras managed to take the nation into the final, from where it failed to make an impact and stumbled in a disappointing twenty-first position. In recent weeks, the entertainer published his debut album entitled Love on Mars in a concert with all proceeds going to charity.Amongst the guests during this concert, there were none other than Amber, who had accompanied Kurt as a backing vocalist and Gianluca who represented Malta at the international showcase earlier this year. Other interviews airing this evening are with Alex Panayi who represented Cyprus at the 1995 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with Sti Fotia and PeR who represented Latvia at this years' international competition with Here We Go.

There will also be a number of new releases played throughout the three hours, including tracks by Alex Sparrow (Russia 2011), Lauris Reiniks (Latvia 2000), Maya Sar (Bosnia & Herzegovina 2012), Agnetha Faltskorg (Sweden 1974), Celine Dion (Switzerland 1988), Kevin Borg (Malta NF 2013) and Pastora Soler (Spain 2012).
