Earlier this afternoon, members of the press took to the B&W Hallerne in Copenhagen, Denmark in order to watch the first dress rehearsal of the second semi-final of the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Malta, represented by Firelight and the song Coming Home written by Richard Edwards Micallef were first up on the stage and gave a sublime performance.

Later on this evening, Firelight will have to be on top of their game once more in order to entertain the professional juries across Europe, as unveiled by the European Broadcasting Union during the first week of rehearsals. In the meantime, it is worth noting that Richard Edwards, Michelle Mifsud, Wayne Micallef, Daniel Micallef, Anthony Polidano and Leslie DeCesare, who make up the band Firelight, have been quite busy in recent days, performing in several parties including that of Israel whose Mei Finegold will perform the song Same Heart just after Malta's participation. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Firelight made up of; Richard Edwards Micallef, Michelle Mifsud, Daniel Micallef, Wayne Micallef, Leslie Decesare and Tony Polidano were first to take to the stage this afternoon as a full run through of the second semi-final took place at the B&W Hallerne in Copenhagen, Denmark. Coming Home is being touted as the dark horse by all the media present for this year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and that fills the escflashmalta.com editorial team with courage as the semi-final looms closer and close with each passing day.

According to our team in Copenhagen, the vocals were strong, the camera work was flawless and the feel good factor was there more than ever. Remember that Malta will be opening the second semi-final on Thursday 8th May, followed by no less than fourteen countries, including fan-favourite Norway. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates as soon as they become available. A quick reminder that LIVE blogging will be taking place through the social media channels of this portal throughout both the semi-finals and the final set for the 6th, 8th and 10th May 2014.

A panel of professional judges, along with the general public selected Firelight and the track Coming Home, written by Richard Edwards Micallef, to represent Malta in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. In anticipation, the Public Broadcasting Services is working closely to the team to ensure that everything is improved upon prior to the big stage, with a dramatic new version, one which has been received well abroad, as well as a brand new line-up made up of; Richard Edwards, Michelle Mifsud, Tony Polidano, Matthew Ellul, Daniel Micallef and Wayne Micallef.

This means, that for the second (2nd) consecutive year, Malta will be making use of the novelty of having family members on stage, although instead of two (2), this time round, it boasts an incredible four (4). Apart from a small promotional tour which will see Firelight travel to preview parties in The Netherlands and the United Kingdom in the coming weeks, the group has been busy recording a music video, one which will be released in a couple of days. Nevertheless, Duane & Angie Laus have prepared a prelude to that by producing a lyric video, something which the Public Broadcasting Services coin as a 'novel way to promote music on the internet'. Watch the lyric video below and stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all the latest news.
