According to close sources to the Public Broadcasting Services, can proudly announce that the most likely combination of hosts for the upcoming edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest will feature none other than former representatives; Ira Losco and Gianluca Bezzina. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, this portal was the one to confirm the hosts of the event to be Keith Demicoli and Valerie Vella, Elaine Saliba and Ronald Briffa as well as Elaine Saliba and Gordon Bonello. The Public Broadcasting Services is yet to confirm the news although it is expected that an official announcement will be made in the next couple of days.

Ira Losco, Malta’s most successful female artist, represented the country at the 2002 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song 7th Wonder composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Gerard James Borg, eventually finishing in second place. In recent months, she released her sixth studio album, The Fire which has spawned three successful singles; What I’d Give, The Person I Am (ft David Leguesse) and Me Luv U Long Time. Ira has just set plans in motion for the release of a fourth single entitled The Way It's Meant to Be to which an official music video will be released in due course. The album, which you may still purchase through iTunes managed to stay on top of the local charts for more than two months.

Gianluca, Malta’s most successful male artist, represented the country at the 2013 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Tomorrow co-written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat, finishing in eighth place, the nations’ best result since Chiara’s Angel managed a second place finish in 2005. Since returning from the international spectacle, Gianluca has been on a high, performing in concerts such as the Isle of MTV and Teatru Unplugged as well as sharing the stage with Joseph Calleja. He also released his debut album Waiting for Tomorrow with independent record label, Albam Records. We urge you to stay tuned to for more of the latest news.

This years' edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in less than a month and the preparations on behalf of the Public Broadcasting Services are currently well underway noting that the twenty-four semi-finalists are being interviewed and promoted on several television and radio programmes but nevertheless, one question is yet to be answered and that seems to regard the hosting duties. As one could denote from the picture below, we are proud to exclusively reveal that this year the station has decided to call upon Gordon Bonello and Elaine Saliba as hosts for the main stage with Rodney Gauci set to tackle on the backstage where a better insight to the excitement behind the scenes will be given. This news item has been confirmed to members of the editorial team of by multiple sources close to the Public Broadcasting Services and Television Malta.

Rodney Gauci will be adding to the sibling intrigue in the 2013 Malta Eurovision Song Contest being the brother of Marilena who entered the competition following the withdrawal of Saska Hunt. He is not a newcomer to music having been part of the group that represented Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Lillehammer, Norway back in 2004. Since then, he has garnered esteem as a comical actor in the hit television series Deċeduti and more recently as Ġorġ on the daily talk show, TV Hemm. Moving onto the main hosts and beginning with the female; Elaine Saliba who returns as a host of the popular competition following her first experience last year in which she notably wore pink gloves which seemed to make everyone giggle at the sight of them despite chosen by a fashion consultant.

At the end of the semi-final she had removed them though and continued presenting the graceful manner she had begun. Her English was coherent and well executed and apart from mixing up some foreign names, she did a stunning job. Joining her as her main male co-host will be Gordon Bonello, who is predominantly a remarkable actor having had several roles in televised series but most notably also in Deċeduti and more recently as Pawlu on the daily talk show, TV Hemm. The trio will surely add to the entertainment of the evening which will as previously revealed by include a performance by the cast of D.R.E.A.M.S on the night of the final. The announcement of the hosts will officially be made by the Public Broadcasting Services very soon. Stay tuned for more exclusive news.

The Public Broadcasting Services is currently preparing the team which they will be sending to Baku, Azerbaijan for the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest where Kurt Calleja and his song This Is The Night are set to take to the stage during the second semi-final amongst a flurry of nations who seem to have their participation favoured by the critics including Sweden and Serbia amongst others. It is mostly known that the team in itself will include the main performer, the band, the backing vocal, the Head of Delegation being Anton Attard, the Assistant Head of Delegation normally Anna Dalli and then the Head of Press Daniel D'Anastasi. One member who is definitely not going to Azerbaijan according to exclusive sources is the commentator who this year will be none other than Elaine Saliba.

Looking back through the years, Elaine Saliba started through the means of production with Where's Everybody before moving onto acting, landing a leading role on a television series that aired on Television Malta entitled Għada Jisbaħ Wkoll (Tomorrow Dawns As Well) but from then onwards, she grew in confidence, strength and experience going onto present and host the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza last year alongside veteran Charles Saliba aired on NET Television and then also taking up a programme entitled Kwiżż (Quiz) on the same station. Following her successful stint, she was asked by the Public Broadcasting Services to host the Malta Eurovision Song Contest alongside Television Malta presented and former host of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, Ronald Briffa creating controversy in the first night over a choice of outfit but shining in the final in a sleek blue floor length gown. She did a great job and critics were pleased with the outcome of the competition in terms of hosting duties therefore it comes to no surprise that the likes of Antonia Micallef, Eileen Montesin and Valerie Vella have been dismissed owing to various reasons. It seems that Elaine is quickly becoming a golden girl at the Public Broadcasting Services for her talent, charm and beautiful smile. We would like to wish her luck as she commentates during both the semi-final stages and the final from the Public Broadcasting Services Headquarters in Gwardamangia.
