Alexander Rybak, male singer/songwriter who ascent to fame came to fruition following his triumph at the 2009 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with his "Fairytale" has made it public knowledge that he has 'a clear desire to write a song for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest', thus confirming the recent rumours published by when the Norwegian/Belarusian artist was in Malta for a short visit just a couple of days ago. The local artist he met up with was none other than two-time Malta Eurovision Song Contest participant, Franklin Calleja.

In an interview with The Sunday Times of Malta, Alexander Rybak also showed willingness to support the Public Broadcasting Services in putting on this year's edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, stating that he 'would definitely on a great show for all of you to enjoy'. The singer/songwriter's scope of the interview was to promote his latest release, "Into a Fantasy" which has in turn been included in the soundtrack for the DreamWorks Motion Picture, 'How To Train Your Dragon 2'. Traditionally, winners of the Eurovision Song Contest tend to have success in Europe and over the years, success post-competition is not always guaranteed. However, the 2009 winner, Alexander Rybak has managed to have one of his songs included on the soundtrack for the forthcoming DreamWorks animated movie How to Train Your Dragon 2. After sending the composition to DreamWorks, the violin-heavy song Into a Fantasy was well received and Dreamworks deemed it worthy as a part of the official soundtrack.

The songs itself is a fitting song for a movie soundtrack and is in true Rybak style. Given the success of the first movie and the big budget sequel, this is an excellent achievement for Alexander and here at we are looking forward to see how this is received in the States. Five years after winning the contest in Moscow, Alexander has landed himself a track on a Hollywood soundtrack. I am sincerely glad this guy has not faded into Eurovision obscurity. We urge you to stay tuned to even on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

Malta: Brooke is back with a Ballad

Brooke, one of the female artists who ranks highly above many others in the local music scene has somewhat surprised her fans with her latest release and this because, she has gone for an acoustic setting in the track Something That I Said. In recent weeks, the renowned local star managed to beat another three nominees for the Best Solo Artist accolade at the Malta Music Awards and this seems to have given her the courage to continue releasing professional music whilst studying vocal technique in the United Kingdom. Emerging as a prime artist throughout the years, it has to be noted that the vocal acrobatics have become very popular in music and thus, this element is very much prevalent in this track.

Brooke has had an extremely hectic past couple of months with the release of her comeback single Fairytale which was also supported by a music video exclusively published through and featuring Pretty Little Liars actor, Brant Daugherty. Following the positive acclaim by fans in Malta, which saw it rise to significant positions on local radio, Brooke decided to change the vibe ever so slightly and as a matter of fact, went onto release a second song entitled B.I.N.G.O which she performed at the 2012 Bay Music Awards, a performance which many will remember for the energy and the several hundreds of fake dollars thrown towards the end of the performance. Have a listen to the brand new song released by one of the artists who certainly has a bright future and stay tuned to for more of the latest news in the coming weeks.

Norway: Alexander Rybak Releases New Single

Initially, Alexander Rybak was somewhat of a nobody having taken part in the Melodi Grand Prix in 2009 for the very first time with the song Fairytale and emerging as the clear favourite very quickly after all of the songs had been previewed. He would of course go on to win with a huge margin before going to the Eurovision Song Contest held in Moscow, Russia where he would also ensure victory just ahead of Iceland who were represented with Is It True? performed by the stunning Yohanna. His victory was the beginning of a brand new era for the European competition noting that charting success was being guaranteed not only for the winner but for a number of performers who were now starting to be backed by the regional departments of major recording labels. Following the release of three successful albums; Alexander Rybak is planning yet another release sometime soon hence forth why he will be releasing a new single, most probably off this upcoming album which remains a mystery thus far.

Alexander Rybak has a habit of speaking the truth win his tracks by virtue of relating them to experiences endured in life and in fact, Leave Me Alone is about a particular female fan who seems to have been stalking him in various ways for quite some time. Nevertheless, he notes that this is something extraordinary especially when this particular girl even has the habit of getting the private mobile number of the performer which has been changed a number of times in recent months. The brand new track which will be released during the day is co-written by David Eriksen who is well known to fans of the Eurovision Song Contest for writing Butterflies for Tone Damli Aaberge which was the runner-up to Alexander Rybak in 2009 Melodi Grand Prix. Nevertheless, David has worked with the likes of A1, The Saturdays, Lindsay Lohan, Clay Aiken, and Monrose. Stay tuned to for more news about the latest releases from former winners of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Malta: MTV Award Ambitions for Brooke

Comeback has surely become one of the most used words in the music industry and during this past summer, one of the individuals who marked her return was none other than Brooke who has been studying in the United Kingdom in recent years and thus has been a bit busy with other projects but she has continuously honed her musical elements and hence forth, is now back with two singles; Fairytale whose video was exclusively released on and Bingo which is more recent and has just started getting airplay. It is to be noted that Brooke has succeeded already in Malta with a number of hit singles including awards at both major ceremonies in the country. She has gone through the runaround in the past, trying her luck in the Junior Eurosong competition on a number of occasions but never getting to that top position unfortunately despite presenting suitable tracks throughout.

Her most recent endeavours are coming forth with her band; The Kicksters and features them competing for an award which is being introduced by MTV, this being none other than the MTV Brand New Unsigned Act for 2013. Despite the multitude of talent which Malta has, it has been discussed time and time again, that the lack of opportunities is somewhat disappointing with radio being one of the most prominent apart from taking part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest for example which will give one the element of possibly performing in front of millions of people, and taking into a singing competition which has created the likes of Lara FabianAbbaCelinè Dion and many others so to speak. is suggesting that you click on the official page for Brooke on the MTV Website and click to vote with your respective Facebook account. Stay tuned for all of the latest news as it comes about in the coming days and weeks.

Malta: Brand New Single Release by Brooke

Brooke, a talented artist who has most recently showed the strength of her music prowess through the song Fairytale returns to the local music scene following her departure to the United Kingdom where she is currently studying Interior Design at the University of Kensington. The difference of styles that the masterful performer can carry is somewhat outstanding and it is the case that many people remember her growing up participating in a number of competitions in Malta especially the Junior Eurosong where she was denied victory on a couple of occasions including with a possible stunner had it went abroad but nevertheless, she has held her head up high and continues to truly shine. Her latest single released earlier this week bears the name Bingo and it is written by Carl Harris and Joshua Alamu. It is expected to be played on all of the local radio stations in the next couple of days.

The artist needs a strong team behind her and she does have that in her manager and vocal coach, Joshua Alamu who is critically acclaimed in the United Kingdom having even been selected by the British Broadcasting Corporation to audition artists for The Voice which was of course one of the most popular shows last season featuring the likes of superstars such as Will.I.Am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue. Brooke has been performing this track in her shows recently and is actually a favourite not only with the audience which just stands up and dances along to the track but also with the band who have grown fond of the genre of music that it reflects, embracing the present and gearing up to represent the future in music as well. It has been noted how many young artists have grown to become well known in Malta with contacts being made with foreign songwriters and producers who ultimately help in creating or rather shaping up a career. Two of the most notable names are surely those of Brooke and Christabelle, both of whom have a number of followers due to the fact that their genres are very different from each other and have succeeded in racking up awards for each of their specialities respectively. They are currently working on promoting their most recent singles Fairytale and Say which are being played on local airwaves.

Looking back through the confines of time, one would remember a young, beautiful and talented Brooke taking part in the Junior Song for Europe remembering that she was robbed of the top position when she performed the heart out of the song Forever Love only finishing in sixth place. Nevertheless though, she showed prowess and just a couple of months later, the singer seemed destined for success and began performing with the Italian up and comer Daniele before then even duetting with the renowned winner of Sanremo Giovani Tony Maiello on the track Echo which was also performed on the likes of RAI DUE. Later on though Brooke decided to embark to London and from there onwards, she has not looked back releasing wonderful tracks such as Achilles Heel and Love Not War amongst others. Her latest single Fairytale is already a hit peaking at number #4 in this weeks edition of the Bay Radio Local Chart.

It was somewhat of a similar beginning for the beautiful Christabelle whose charming smile has managed to capture the memories of many individuals. Her initial participations in the Junior Song for Europe mostly her last one ended in dismay but set the tone for the future noting that the first major competition she competed in outside of this was actually a victory with the song Aċċetani Kif Jien in the 2006 edition of the Għanja tal-Poplu. Since then though, she has decided to take up an R'n'B genre which has proven extremely successful especially at the Bay Music Awards where she has managed to rack up the Best Female Artist accolade on a number of occasions. Some of the songs which she has released and have peaked at number #1 include none other than Everything About You, I Wanna Know and Everytime I Bleed amongst others. She seems to be destined for another top spot with her latest single Say which is currently at number #2 in the latest Bay Radio Local Chart.

The two ladies have been quite busy in recent weeks and would like to wish them all fthe very best of luck with their endeavours in the music scene noting that they are two of the artists who seem to be very much taking our local efforts in the best possible direction. Working with some of the most recognizable people in music is surely helping but their sense of style and their talent goes a long way and ultimately represents them and the country well. Stay tuned for more features about local artsts in the upcoming days, weeks and months.

During the past four to five years, there has been a catapulting music industry, reaching a new level of success noting that the production of tracks has become much more professional with the songwriting being even somewhat more original. Our country is known for producing some of the most talented performers yet the resources are somewhat still lacking. One of the individuals who has moved house and is definitely succeeding in the game is none other than the beautiful Brooke who most recently released the track Fairytale which also made it into the local iTunes charts. There is a lot of hype surrounding the track.

The video is currently being put together but filming took place way out in Los Angeles, within a castle that has already received an overwhelming amount of views through the video of Paparazzi the track performed by Lady Gaga.
