Ira Losco has just released 'Haunted by Love' as the first single off her much anticipated album, due to be released in 2016. The album will be her fifth studio release and 10th music publication to date.

The 'drum and bass' track, which was produced by Howard Keith at Jagged House Studios, is very fitting to the pop sound currently dominating the charts and airwaves. Ira Losco has been working in the studio since last August and is set to return with a very fresh sound following her previous album "The Fire”.  Awarded best album at the Malta Music Awards, “The Fire” is still in the Top 10 iTunes charts unrivaled by any other local release for the past three years.

Ira’s manager said “So many songs, so many years have passed and yet I can never foresee what Ira is going to come up with next. We try our best to keep it fresh, exciting ,challenging and above all fun. It’s very easy to fall into the ‘predictable and safe’ pattern but Ira has always managed to re-invent herself and out do what she’s done in the past and that doesn’t come by very often.’

Different to previous releases, which were preceded by a radio release, 'Haunted by Love' has been simultaneously released with the music video which was directed by the talented James Vernon.

Also featured in the video is local boxing champion and sports icon Bertu Camilleri playing a cameo role as Ira’s mentor and trainer where she plays the part of a struggling boxer.

"I'm glad to be ending 2015 with the release of the first single from a new body of work we’ve been working very hard on. Although there’s still lots of work to do, we already have 18 tracks A-listed from around 40 tracks and I’m looking forward to release the album in 2016.

I believe that using every possible vehicle to bring across one’s music is of utmost importance in today's industry, where it can easily get lost in all the noise. I pour my heart and soul into what seems to me the best way of bringing my music to my audience in the most creative way possible" said Ira Losco. We urge you to stay tuned to even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.

It is somewhat difficult to spot the best possible talent in Malta without having a clue to what is out there due to the fact that busy lives are being led but nevertheless, received a tip not too long ago to look out for Bettina and Philippa, a sister duo whose combined efforts are being released as The New Victorians. Howard Keith of Jagged House is producing their debut album and therefore, it seems that the two ladies have a rock behind them as they receive the best possible guidance.

Back in 2011, they competed in the International Alchemy Songwriting Competition held in the United States of America, where they were announced as Youth Division Winners. The track which had garnered attention bears the name Tom, Dick and Harry and was performed during their set at the Beland Music Festival earlier this summer. In the meantime, around two (2) months ago, they recorded a cover of the track Someboday to Love, originally by the group Queen. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news from the local music industry but to keep an eye on The New Victorians, make sure to visit their pages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Soundlcoud.

Published in Local Music News is proud to denote that guest contributor, Ira Losco is still heading the digital charts on iTunes with her sixth studio album The Fire. This means that the record has managed to stay on top for eleven (11) consecutive weeks with the latest single, Me Luv U Long Time also managing number #2 on Malta's Top Ten, having led for three (3) weeks in a row and also number #1 on Bay's Top Thirty which also includes tracks from the foreign music industry. One has to denote that the female vocalists' humble beginnings came from the Eurovision Song Contest where her entry 7th Wonder composed by Philip Vella and penned by Gerard James Borg finished as the first runner-up.

One of the main elements behind her nationwide success is the fact that she has always been grounded and appreciates her fans, the people who have given life to her music. The latest music video supporting the release of Me Luv U Long Time is a masterpiece and has already garnered the attention of leading individuals in the industry who are somewhat signalling future award success for both the vocalist and production company, The Bigger Picture. With almost a quarter of a million views on the music video, it goes to show that apart from achieving local recognition, Ira is on her way to international success once more. The release of the single and the video has been promoted through several fan sites of the Eurovision Song Contest including; escXtra and Wiwiblogs amongst others. In the meantime, we urge you to stay tuned to for her latest blog for the month of September in the next couple of days.

Preceding the release of the collection, there were two singles, one entitled What I'd Give and the other being The Person I Am featuring the vocals of David Leguess. Between Ira's fifth and sixth studio albums, there was a three year gap, something which she described as a period where she rediscovered her love towards music. All releases by the singer/songwriter are under the Jagged House imprint and therefore, it comes as no surprise that joining her in Għaxaq on Tuesday, 6th August 2013 will be none other than Airport Impressions, also on the labels' roster.

At the Farsons Beer Festival, Ira Losco performed a string of her own personal hits including a number of well known songs in Maltese such as L-Aħħar Bidwi F'Wied il-Għasel. In the meantime, Airport Impressions will be taking to the stage tomorrow evening with Lauren Aquilina also in tow for a series of performances. Both Ira and Airport Impressions will be singing songs from their personal discography but organisers of the Għaxaq Music Festival have also confirmed that the two will be coming together for a couple of tracks as well. This is something that is happening for the very first time and the public will surely enjoy the outcome considering the strong vocals on both sides. In 2007, four male musicians in the form of Errol Sammut, Johann Schembri, Chris Curmi and Steve Farrugia came together to create the alternative male band known as Airport Impressions. Jagged House Studios, represented by Howard Keith knew that there was something special and thus a professional relationship began, one which culminated in the release of a number of successful singles such as Beside You and Wake Up.
