AvroTros, the national broadcaster responsible for the participation of The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest have just announced that a duet featuring Ilse de Lange and Waylon, formally known as Common Linnets will fly off to Copenhagen, Denmark. This does not really come as a surprise, considering the success achieved by Anouk and her entry Birds which finished in ninth place at this years' edition of the international competition. AvroTros have joined forces for the very first time, and will therefore be hoping to make a positive first impression.

Ilse de Lange is one of the most popular female vocalists in The Netherlands, having successfully released seven (7) studio albums, six (6) of which have peaked at number #1. She will be joined on stage by Waylon, a finalist on Holland's Got Talent who released his debut album Wicked Ways in 2009, one which peaked in the top five (5). The duet will surely feature a pop/country song, something middle of the wrong in the vein of Hello Goodbye, performed at the Melodifestivalen by Tone Damli and Erik Segerstedt. The song will surely be revealed closer to the date of the Heads of Delegation Meeting although the announcement is surely positive, with several fans proving to be optimistic. Netherlands: AvroTros Revelation on 25th November

For eight (8) consecutive years, The Netherlands failed to reach the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with Anouk breaking the duck and reaching the final stages of the show with a song entitled Birds which she co-wrote with Tore Johansson and Martin Gjerstad, ultimately managing a ninth (9th) place finish with a total of one hundred, fourteen (114) points. AVROTROS, a brand new broadcaster seeing to the merge of the two former broadcasters in The Netherlands is set to announce their next representative in a press conference on Monday 25th November 2013.

Rumours are circulating in the the media that it could be one of two females, those being either Sharon Doorson or Ilse DeLange. The latter is considered to be the main favourite though and with a string of success in recent years, it could very much be a positive choice. So Incredible, Next to Me, Puzzle Me and Miracle are her most notable single releases whilst her latest studio album, her seventh in total peaked at number #1 in The Netherlands. The announcement will be made at Hilversum Wisseloord Studios, the same venue where Anouk was announce as representative last year. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
