In collaboration with Jagged House, Ira Losco has recently joined the family as part of the editorial board albeit in a guest position, one which she has engaged on a monthly basis. Hot on heels following the release of her seventh studio album, The Fire, which has been hailed as a model for the music which should follow by other local musicians, Ira Losco is currently engaging her fans through a promotional campaign supported by, Coca Cola and 89.7 Bay in order to select her fourth single release, but more about that here.

Christmas is a time for giving, and indeed, Ira Losco who once represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest to massive success, finishing in second place with 7th Wonder composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Gerard James Borg, is giving away a digital copy of her latest studio album, for FREE. Due to the fact that Ira had not released any original music in years, many had been expecting her to be mellow, a tad safe but she came out firing in a positive manner and released what has been coined to be an edgy and risky album, one which managed to top the iTunes Charts for more than two months at one point. Ira Losco will return with a brand new blog for the month of December in a couple of days, so we urge you to stay tuned to, listen to The Fire and await more interesting news.

It is somewhat difficult to spot the best possible talent in Malta without having a clue to what is out there due to the fact that busy lives are being led but nevertheless, received a tip not too long ago to look out for Bettina and Philippa, a sister duo whose combined efforts are being released as The New Victorians. Howard Keith of Jagged House is producing their debut album and therefore, it seems that the two ladies have a rock behind them as they receive the best possible guidance.

Back in 2011, they competed in the International Alchemy Songwriting Competition held in the United States of America, where they were announced as Youth Division Winners. The track which had garnered attention bears the name Tom, Dick and Harry and was performed during their set at the Beland Music Festival earlier this summer. In the meantime, around two (2) months ago, they recorded a cover of the track Someboday to Love, originally by the group Queen. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news from the local music industry but to keep an eye on The New Victorians, make sure to visit their pages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Soundlcoud.

One of the main elements behind her nationwide success is the fact that she has always been grounded and appreciates her fans, the people who have given life to her music. The latest music video supporting the release of Me Luv U Long Time is a masterpiece and has already garnered the attention of leading individuals in the industry who are somewhat signalling future award success for both the vocalist and production company, The Bigger Picture. With almost a quarter of a million views on the music video, it goes to show that apart from achieving local recognition, Ira is on her way to international success once more. The Fire, Ira Losco's sixth album is the most successful to date notching up a total of ten weeks at number #1 on the local music charts. Preceding the release of the collection, there were two singles, one entitled What I'd Give and the other being The Person I Am featuring the vocals of David Leguess. Between Ira's fifth and sixth studio albums, there was a three year gap, something which she described as a period where she rediscovered her love towards music. All releases by the singer/songwriter are under the Jagged House imprint and therefore, it comes as no surprise that joining her in Għaxaq on Tuesday, 6th August 2013 will be none other than Airport Impressions, also on the labels' roster.

At the Farsons Beer Festival, Ira Losco performed a string of her own personal hits including a number of well known songs in Maltese such as L-Aħħar Bidwi F'Wied il-Għasel. The Fire, the sixth studio album release from Ira Losco is being seen as the most biographical especially following a rather long interlude in which she took a break from music. Her latest single release entitled Me Luv You Long Time is seen as a stunning track mixing together several genres including funk, pop and rock. When turning on a local radio station, it is one of the tracks which will be played on most of the stations in the country at the moment and that speaks volumes for Ira's career in general.

Ira has been in the industry for over ten years but she garnered major exposure following her first runner-up finish at the 2002 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The international spectacle was a completely different event without the current semi-final system. Ultimately she was beaten by I Wanna, a track that represented Latvia and failed to become a known hit track. On Malta's Top Ten with Nathan D, the track is currently peaking at number #4 and will most likely head to the top in due course.

An official music video will most likely be unveiled within the next couple of weeks in order to aid promotion but nevertheless, if you would like to watch Ira Losco perform live, make sure to attend the Farsons Beer Festival on Sunday 28th July. Following a series of tracks from her latest and former albums, she will hold a meet and greet session with the people present. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
