It was one of the most surprising announcements, when the Public Broadcasting Services made use of their evening news bulletin to reveal that Malta was set to return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Gaia Cauchi was internally selected following her success at the Malta Music Awards which saw her being awarded the International Achievement Award following her stint on the RAI Uno programme, Ti Lascio Una Canzone hosted by the renowned Antonella Clerici.

On Saturday, Gaia Cauchi will be representing Malta at one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world as she takes to the stage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is taking place in Kiev, Ukraine. The event, broadcaster in around fifteen (15) countries features twelve (12) participants at the moment although more are expected this time next year as interest is currently being shown by the likes of Hungary and Germany, both of which are regulars at the senior edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Start is co-written by Gaia Cauchi alongside Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard. Her second rehearsal was powerful, and beyond magical, so much that there has a lot of positive feedback from the international press and even from other delegations. On Saturday, the show kicks off at 19:00 CET on TVM 2 with commentary led by Daniel Chircop and Corazon Mizzi. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news and make sure to follow the rolling live report featuring Trevor Fenech, Sophie DeBattista and Daniel Testa.

In 2008, Daniel Testa represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the track Junior Swing finishing in fourth place with one hundred (100) points. Since then, the male vocalist has been quickly building up a career for himself, taking up a position at leading radio station, 89.7 Bay as a disc jockey whilst working on new songs, including a potential entry for the upcoming edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. As previously published on escflashmalta.com, he has worked with Stephen Rudden, a former representative of the United Kingdom at the international event.

We are pleased to announce that the coverage on escflashmalta.com during this weekends' proceedings will be led by an editorial member, two former representatives of Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as well as an artist manager who requires no formal introduction. Sophie DeBattista and Daniel Testa have both accepted the offer of the editorial team along with Trevor Fenech who under his guidance saw to the success and growth of Claudia Faniello. He is currently working with young vocalist, Daniel Testa, shaping up several areas of his music career. escflashmalta.com are pleased to have such a competent team of inviduals who will be listening to the twelve (12) songs including that of Malta, entitled The Start performed by Gaia Cauchi. Stay tuned to this portal for all of the latest news.

Gaia Cauchi, the young female vocalist internally selected by the Public Broadcasting Services following her astonishing accolade at this years' edition of the Malta Music Awards is hoping to set the record for a week of firsts noting that she managed a sublime first rehearsal at the Sports Palace in Kiev, Ukraine. The international media have already dubbed her as the young girl with the big voice, comparing her to the likes of Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Malta has returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest following an absence of two (2) years and it seems that the public are content with such a decision.

At the initial rehearsal, meant to be for the setup of the lighting and the camera work, it seems that Malta has opted for a dark stage, one which envokes the emotions of the song. The lighting is predominantly purple and also features stars and buildings in certain areas. The camera work is also looking perfect. Despite taking to the stage by herself, Gaia fills it up with personality and a huge voice. I dare say that The Start is the best song that Malta has ever sent to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and all credit goes to Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca, Gaia Cauchi and Gillian Attard for making it possible. On Saturday, kicking off at 19:00 CET and airing on TVM 2 where Malta is concerned, Gaia Cauchi will be performing in slot number #11, the penultimate position. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

Earlier this evening, all of the delegations participating in this years' edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest were given a warm welcome during the Opening Party. Anastasiya Petryk, winner of last years' international showcase was a special guest during the event and following her performance, aided the hosts with the running order. Two countries were selected randomly as wildcards with the right to select their own place in the draw. The lucky countries were Georgia who selected to perform in slot number #9 and the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia who decided on slot number #5, an uncanny choice.

Malta is returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest following a two year absence and Gaia Cauchi looked stunning during the ceremony in a beautiful red dress with a huge black bow on her head. It is important to denote that the young female vocalist is accompanied by songwriter and vocal coach, Gillian Attard as well as composer Elton Zarb and Head of Delegation, Anna Dalli. The Start, a magnificient ballad is one of the favourites to win and we hope that the late running order which Gaia randomly selected will reflect the performance on the night. It was a surprise to see the Mediterranean country return to the prestigious music event which is being organised in the city of Kiev. The government of Ukraine is working hard to ensure that the event is a major success and prove to the members of the European Broadcasting Union that the event is here to stay.

Malta will be broadcasting the competition on Television Malta 2 (TVM 2) as it kicks off at 19:00 CET. This is the first time that a major event is being shown on the secondary television station but it had to be the case due to the fact that the eight o'clock news bulletin, the main one could not be moved in any other way. The spokesperson on the night of the final will be none other than Maxine Pace, a two time former Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest finalists. Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine is playing host to this years’ edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, an event organised by the European Broadcasting Union in which the Public Broadcasting Services will be marking its return two years are withdrawing from the competition. Gaia Cauchi and her entry The Start, which she co-wrote with Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and vocal coach, Gillian Attard were internally selected, based on the criteria that the young star was awarded with the International Achievement Award at the Malta Music Awards.

Gaia Cauchi, a true starlet is a major contender for victory according to fan-sites across the World Wide Web. Malta’s return to the showcase has been relatively low key with the announcement of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 semi-finalists imminent yet we urge you to switch on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, airing on Television Malta this Saturday night for an event which will surely see the nations’ head help high. A student of La Voix Academy headed by Gillian Attard, Gaia Cauchi has a rich background having also been on RAI Uno’s Ti Lascio Una Canzone. On the 30th November 2013, the European Broadcasting Union will be hosting the tenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is being staged in Kiev, Ukraine. As part of the rebranding of the event, a certain co-relation is being created between the senior and the junior events of the Eurovision Song Contest, so much so that two former winners of the senior event; Ruslana and Emmelie de Forest have both been invited to perform as special guests during the course of the evening.

It is also worth noting that the one of the hosts of the evening is Zlata Ognevich, the female artist who represented Ukraine at this years’ edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Gravity, finishing in second place. This is a similar system to the one used by NTU, the national broadcaster of Ukraine when they hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a couple of years back by getting Ani Lorak to co-host. Malta is returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Gaia Cauchi and her entry The Start which she co-wrote with Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard  of La Voix Academy. It is always important to denote that the Mediterranean Country had been absent from the event for the past two (2) years. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for the latest news.

On the 30th November, Malta will be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled The Start, co-written by Matt Mercieca, Gillian Attard, Elton Zarb and Gaia Cauchi, the latter of which will also be the vocalist. The return of the Mediterranean country to the international event has been met with widespread approval and despite the internal selection of both the artist and the song, it seems that the right decision was taken up considering that the polls are ranking Malta in one of the top three positions.

At this weekends' International Festival of Maltese Song, Gaia Cauchi took to the main stage as a special guest to perform her Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry, LIVE for the very first time and one would say that it was an overwhelming success with fan-sites and critics across the continent taking to social media in order to congratulate the young starlet. escflashmalta.com had the pleasure of being in the audience to confirm the stunning vocal capabilities of the performer.

At this point in time, Malta currently leads two main fan-site polls, one being that of oikotimes.com which has had well over 12,000 unique votes and the other one being of eurovoix.com which bases a lot of news items on the international event. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about the 2013 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will be covered by a series of special guests including Sophie DeBattista.

Maxine Pace, a young female vocalist who had tried to represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on two seperate occasions in 2009 and 2010 respectively will finally be given the opportunity to make an appearance on that illustrious stage in Kiev, Ukraine having been selected by the Public Broadcasting Services as the spokesperson on behalf of Malta. One of the innovations that the European Broadcasting Union is putting forward is that the points of each of the participating countries will be read by an individual on the actual stage of the event, set for the 30th November 2013.

Maxine Pace, vocally coached by Gillian Attard and Joshua Alamu has recently been making waves within the local music scene with her debut single Fed Up written by Ramzi making Malta's Top Ten with Nathan D on 89.7 Bay. She also had the opportunity to perform along the likes of former Eurovision Song Contest representatives; Kurt Calleja (2012), Gianluca (2013), Chiara (1998, 2005, 2009) and Malta Eurovision Song Contest runner-up; Amberescflashmalta.com has been given the opportunity to help promote the career of Maxine Pace and therefore, we urge you to follow all her latest doings through her official page on social networking website, Facebook. At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Malta will be represented by Gaia Cauchi and her entry The Start co-written with Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard.

Malta: 'Io Canto' Entrusted to La Voix Academy

In recent years, La Voix Academy headed by Gillian Attard has been growing in reputation with success all over the world, most notably in neighbouring Italy, a nation which is known to appreciate upcoming talent and which has a music scene which directly affects Malta. The renowned body of vocalists which now reaches around 140 students has been given the exclusivity for the second consecutive year with regards to the Canale 5 programme; Io Canto, hosted by Gerry Scotti.

It is worth pointing out that this year, for the very first time ever, there were two (2) artists from Malta on the showcase; Shauna Vassallo and Veronica Rotin. Whilst both have given show stopping performances, the jury have decided to put the latter through to the final stages of the competition denoting that all the standing ovations she was given throughout the series actually meant a lot. During the time on the programme, she has performed a vast selection of songs including; Proud Mary, and the Dreamgirls hit track, And I am Telling You.

La Voix Academy is also busy with preparations for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the moment as the internally selected artist; Gaia Cauchi is also part of this prestigious project which Gillian Attard, known to her children as Miss G initiated not too long ago. She will be performing a song entitled The Start co-written by Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard on the 30th November in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2012, Azerbaijan made their debut within the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with a song entitled Girls and Boys performed by Omar and Suada. Ictimai is yet to make an official announcement with regards to their entrant but nevertheless secure sources close to their promotional team can confirm that Rustam Karimov will be representing the Land of Fire with a track entitled Me and My Guitar. What this means is that Azerbaijan will be sending their first male soloist in a bid to hopefully continue their success with male vocalists within events organised by the European Broadcasting Union.

Malta is one of the twelve, possibly thirteen countries competing in this years' edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Kiev, Ukraine. Gaia Cauchi was internally selected by the Public Broadcasting Services and will be performing The Start co-written by Matt Mercieca, Elton Zarb and Gillian Attard. A page for the Azeri entrant, Rustam Karimov has also been set-up through social media website, Facebook, by Euromedia, the promotional company which has supported Azerbaijan on every venture within the respective event. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
