Gianluca, representative of Malta at this years' edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Tomorrow co-written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat has just been confirmed 89.7 Bay as one of the artists set to be on the stage of the Isle of MTV. Gianluca, who is currently extremely busy at Doyaya Studios working on his yet untitled debut album has just put out a single for his fans and followers to enjoy and it seems to have the same quirky sound which everyone has come to enjoy. As a matter of fact, I'll Be There also written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat could be purchased through digital store, iTunes.

Upon his return from the Eurovision Song Contest, Gianluca took up residency as a doctor but nevertheless, has been making several guest appearances on television contributing to charity fundraisers and performing, something that keeps him going. His announcement as a performer during this years' Isle of MTV is quite surprising noting that in the past couple of years, no local artists were given the opportunity to perform but nevertheless, it seems that a deal has been reached this time round with both Gianluca and Kristina Casolani being renowned artists in the local music scene. Remember, that the Isle of MTV will be taking place this Wednesday 26th June at the Granaries in Floriana. Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5, Nelly Furtado, Lady Gaga and the Scissor Sisters have all been to Malta in recent years as part of the Isle of MTV line-up. Following stints in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, the showcase moved to Malta where it has been organised for the past six years. This years' line-up which is considered to be one of the best will include none other than; Jessie J, Afrojack, Rita Ora and Rudimental with a special announcement taking place this morning saying that local artist; Kristina Casolani will also be performing as the fifth and final performer. Kristina Casolani is the first local artist to take to the stage at the Granaries for the Isle of MTV since Ira Losco, the nations' top selling female artist had done so back in the inaugural edition held in 2007.

In recent years, Kristina Casolani has been busy in the studio working on new material with renowned international producers, the Berrman Brothers. Her work has been subsequently recognised and she signed a lucrative deal with international record label, Net's Work Records. The first release with the label was the highly successful song Get Out which saw her collaborate with Alex Colle, Nicola Zucchi and the Piezza Brothers, three famous producers in the world of dance music. The song was released in Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic getting considerable acclaim and climbing up the dance charts relatively quickly. The local music scene had been yearning for the opportunity to have a local artist in the line-up considering the large amount of music talent in the country and it is great to see that their wishes have been respected. Remember, the Isle of MTV is taking place on the 26th June at the Granaries in Floriana. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.
