MMAs 2014: Trio of Hosts for Nationwide Event

On the 9th February, the Public Broadcasting Services in collaboration with Mega Music Management will be hosting this years' edition of the Malta Music Awards at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre. In line with last years’ proceedings, the Malta Music Weekend will return, with the event coming hot off the heels of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which in turn would have taken place on the previous two (2) nights. During the course of the evening, six (6) awards will be given; Best Album, Best Song, Best Band, Best New Artist, Best Solo Artist and Best Video with a number of artists taking to the stage for a series of special performances.

In a press release issued by the Public Broadcasting Services through their official website, it was revealed that Angie Laus, Arthur Caruana and Nicole Tabone will be hosting the upcoming edition of the Malta Music Awards. Those who have already purchased tickets for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest are entitled to admission whilst those wishing to attend this event only, please visit this website. The event will include several performances by local artists, including none other than; Ira Losco, Winter Moods, Red Electrick, Andi, Norbert, Sophie and Gaia Gauchi amongst others. Announcement of nominations is expected in a couple of days, but those wishing to be considered, are to submit their interest, through the form found on the official website, by clicking here. Whilst the line-up of guests is yet to be finalised, one could denote that the organisers are putting in a lot of effort to ensure that the best local artists take to the stage. Gaia Cauchi, winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be joined by NORBERT, Winter Moods, Plan Zero, Airport Impressions, The Crowns, Red Electrick, Ira Losco and Andi. Tickets for the Malta Music Awards can be purchased through Ooii at just €10, but those who have already purchased tickets for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest are entitled to free entrance. MMAs 2013: Peter Andre Headlining the Show

Next weekend, the local music scene will be somewhat taking centre stage in the world of entertainment due to the fact that on Friday and Saturday, there will be this years’ edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest where one entry will be getting the opportunity to represent the country in the international spectacle taking place in Malmö, Sweden. In the meantime, Sunday evening will definitely be a treat due to the fact that the 2013 edition of the Malta Music Awards will be taking place with twelve artists; eleven local acts along with a foreign guest star taking to the stage of the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre to entertain the crowds. A couple of days ago, it was revealed that the act coming to Malta as a special guest will be none other than Peter Andre, the British singer whose most notorious fame came through reality television. The performer has released a total of eight studio albums throughout his career including charting sensations Natural in 1996, Revelation in 2009 and Acceleration in 2010. All of these peaked within the top ten at numbers one, three and ten respectively. The local audience will definitely remember his earlier material such as Mysterious Girl, Flava and I Feel You which were successful singles in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Australia and Ireland. Tickets for this year’s Malta Music Awards co-organised between Mega Music Management and the Public Broadcasting Services are selling at €10 and €30 and could be purchased through this Ticketing Website.
