This Monday, Fabrizio Palma will be over to give out a masterclass to all the singers who apply for it. The better part of this opportunity is that one will not just be working with, but the Maltese will be singing a part of a song, preferably in Italian or English, and before he leaves Malta, Palma will pick one of the artists that has been at his masterclass, for him to write a single to.

Fabrizio Palma is a well renowned artist when it comes to the Italians and enjoys wide fame throughout Europe, mostly in Malta too. He is best known for being a vocal coach on the shows with worldwide fame ‘Ti Lascio Una Canzone’, where the last winner was our very own Federica Falzon, and also he is the vocal coach on the competition ‘Amici’ of Maria De Filippi. This event is available at our singer’s hand thanks to Claire McCartin Vocal Studio and OltreOceano Festival Live. Claire McCartin is a certified IVA vocal teacher in Malta and also is one of the very few teachers in Malta who leads her students to the Pop Music Exams from Rockschool.

In just a couple of months, Malta will be hosting this year's edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest following Gaia Cauchi's triumph with "The Start", a song which she co-wrote with Elton Zarb, Matt Mercieca and Gillian Attard. As soon as victory was assured, the Public Broadcasting Services entered into talks with the European Broadcasting Union to hold the event in the Mediterranean Island, with the general public buzzing over the stupendous showing.

It seems that participating countries for the show are on the increase and following the supposed debut of Iceland, it seems that Italy will also be putting in their initial showing, according to eurofestivalnews.com, the most accurate Italian news source. This comes to fruition following a recent general assembly organised by the European Broadcasting Union in Naples. Rumour has it, that Italy will be following in Malta and San Marino's footsteps in sending an artist from the television programme "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" following the choices of Michele Perniola for San Marino in 2013 and Federica Falzon for Malta in 2014.

Both managed to triumph in the show. In Malta, the public is buzzing about the possibility of Federica competing against Vincenzo Carni who seems to be first on the list of possible entrants. It is worth noting that Federica and Vincenzo won this year's edition of "Ti Lascio Una Canzone" as a duet. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news about the 2014 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Malta has been nicknamed by many as the small country with big talent and after a number of close finishes in the Eurovision Song Contest and victories in foreign festivals, Malta was able to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year thanks to Gaia Cauchi, Elton Zarb, Gillian Attard and Matthew Mercieca. It was no surprise when after Gaia’s emergence from La Voix Academy, that Federica Falzon from the same academy made the headlines by making it through to the finals of ‘Ti Lascio Una Canzone’.

The young Maltese starlet was partnered with Vincenzo Carni and together they formed a lyrical duo. The duo hit the right chord straightaway as they impressed from the very first programme where they went on to win it. After that the duo had another four victories – something impressive especially considering the talent of all the singers competing in this show. The duo did not compete in one of the ten programmes because Federica was unwell but in the others they left their mark as when they did not win they still managed to reach the finals in that particular programme.

Tonight the lyrical duo sang two songs ‘Un Amore Cosi Grande’ and ‘Il Mare Calmo Della Sera’. Federica was impressive in both songs tonight whilst Vincenzo after a small glitch in the first song picked up well and was as equally impressive. This never hindered them in anyway, as the song ‘Un Amore Cosi Grande’ went on to the final three. After the super finalists sang again, it was very evident that the Maltese/Italian duo meant business as they managed to up their game to a new level and their performance had everyone on their feet right from the start.

Federica Falzon and Vincenzo Carni were announced as the winners of the seventh edition of ‘Ti Lascio Una Canzone’ with the song ‘Un Amore Cosi Grande’. Another feat for our country, especially considering the amount of talent one finds in Italy, known for its culture and musical capacity. A well deserved mention goes to Federica Falzon’s teachers Gillian Attard and Matthew Mercieca from La Voix Academy who have guided the young star throughout her impressive journey. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all the latest news.

Federica Falzon, the ten year old mezzo-soprano who has been sweeping the nation with weekly breathtaking performances alongside the equally talented Italian tenor Vincenzo Carni on the talent show Ti Lascio Una Canzone hosted by Antonella Clerici on Rai Uno, is one of the several prodigies vocally trained by Gillian Attard and Matt Mercieca at La Voix Academy.

Veronica Rotin, Gaia Cauchi, Shauna Vassallo and Maxine Pace who have all had local and international success are all students of the prestigious La Voix Academy whose stellar work continues to raise the cultural profile of the country. Tomorrow marks the final programme of this season for Ti Lascio Una Canzone and the duet featuring Vincenzo and Federica will be performing two entries. They have been given this honour due to having won at least five different semi-finals. We urge all our Italian readers to support this duet during the programme tomorrow whilst reminding the local readers to call upon their friends and family in Italy to also call and support them. A mere couple of months ago, Federica Falzon, a ten year old mezzo-soprano, was a protagonist of the local festival circuit and known to those who frequented a number of events held all over the country but nowadays, she is considered to be a national treasure, following her successful stint on the Italian hit talent show, Ti Lascio Una Canzone.

Federica Falzon, a student of the prestigious La Voix Academy headed by Gillian Attard has come a long way from her humble beginnings in the genre of country music, with the vocal director noting that she possessed qualities which yet needed to be tapped into. Having won five of her semi-final rounds on Ti Lascio Una Canzone whilst performing in duet with Vincenzo Carni, it is worth pointing out the last Saturday, she had the opportunity to sing with two time Eurovision Song Contest representative; Albano whose reputation in the Italian music industry definitely precedes him. This is surely the beginning of something even more magical for the wonderful Federica and on behalf of the whole editorial team at escflashmalta.com we wish her and La Voix Academy the best.

Ti Lascio Una Canzone, hosted by Antonella Clerici on Rai Uno made for pleasurable viewing to the local audience last night as the young and extremely talented Federica Falzon of La Voix Academy took to the main stage in her debut appearance, a duet entitled Un Amore Cosi Grande alongside Vincenzo Carni. Truth be told, the performance gave me shivers, and the result at the end of the evening was surely deserved noting that Federica sailed into the final phases, having won the programme. In the meantime, the editorial team of escflashmalta.com thought it best to contact some people in the local music industry for their comments.

Mark Spiteri Lucas, renowned for his marvelous compositions in Maltese spoke very highly of the performance stating I was impressed by the fabolous and amazing interpretation of young Maltese singer Federica Falzon going onto add that this is another vocalist who is impressing experts on foreign soil whilst also getting a well deserved standing ovation. Debbie Scerri, representative of Malta at the 1997 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest also sang words of praises I was very much impressed, what a beautiful voice, may God bless her, and may she continue to grow in talent.

Both Mark Spiteri Lucas and Debbie Scerri also commended Gillian Attard for her guidance and taking her students for such excellent opportunities finishing up by stating that this is another successful feature in La Voix Academy’s Cap. Gillian, technical director of the Academy has helped shaped the careers of several budding stars including Veronica Rotin, Shauna Vassallo and most recently, Gaia Cauchi. At this point in time, we are unable to publish the name of the performer, due to the fact that Rai Uno holds the exclusivity over the names of the participants until they are unveiled during the very first programme but nevertheless, it will be an extremely wonderful surprise. Gillian Attard, stylised as Miss G is the vocal director of La Voix Academy, responsible for artists such as Veronica Rotin and Shauna Vassallo, finalists of the Canale 5 programme, Io Canto as well as Gaia Cauchi, winner of the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and former finalist of the programme Ti Lascio Una Canzone. escflashmalta.com encourages the general public to switch on Rai Uno this coming Saturday and see which artist from La Voix Academy will be flying the flag for Malta.

San Marino, the only debut country in this years’ edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest have made their choice with regards to both the artist and their respectively entry. As expected, an internal selection took place with SMTV selecting Michele Perniola and the song O-o-O Sole Intorno a Me which translates into Sunlight All Around Me co-written with Piero Romitelli, Massimiliano Messieri and Antonello Carozza.

It is worth pointing out that Gaia Cauchi, the Maltese representative was also a contestant on the programme Ti Lascio Una Canzone hosted by Antonella Clerici on RAI Uno. Following his stint on the programme, Michele was dubbed as Italy’s answer to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, having also had the opportunity to perform a number of his songs during the course of the series.

Italian at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was heard just once before, during the performance of a song entitled Birichino which representing Switzerland back in 2004.
