At the moment, we are gearing up for the upcoming season accompanying the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest but that does not mean our coverage of former entrants stops there. Robin Stjernberg, representative of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year, has recently revealed his sophomore album, Pieces. The release of the collection along with a single of the same name is being promoted through a promotional video, attached at the bottom of the page.

Robin Stjernberg, signed to Lionheart Music Group, and distributed by Universal Music, also home to artists such as Sonja Alden and Anna Bergendahl is looking to launch his career following his runner-up finish in Idol and his participation within the Eurovision Song Contest. His sophomore release peaked at number 2 in the Swedish charts and has already been certified gold following a surge in sales during the first week of release. Both the single and the album could be purchased through digital store, iTunes. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

In 2006, a young blonde girl by the name of Sophie took to the stage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Extra Cute obtaining a mid-table placing. Just five years later, that girl had grown up into a little woman and took to the stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the track Love to Love You which she co-wrote alongside Elton Zarb. Based in the United Kingdom at the moment, Sophie has maintained a respectable name having recently been selected as the opening act for r'n'b star, Ciara and reaching the finals of an illustrious songwriting competition.

Sophie's Official Website which could be accessed here is offering a FREE download of a brand new single, that entitled Lil' Game which she also co-wrote with Elton Zarb. It is expected that recent material published by the female vocalist will all be part of her debut album released through Totally Sophie Music and distributed by Universal Music. Whilst pop will always be the main genre for the female vocalist, she is somewhat fusing it into r'n'b in order to create a new urban sound which will be either a hit or miss. The release of the track is being accompanied by an official music video which was shot in a pub and shows Sophie playing a little game with two eligible bachelors. It is a decent effort but I know that she could do much better. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

NDR, broadcaster responsible for the participation of Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest is unfortunately coming off a disappointing result with Glorious performed by the group Cascada only managing eighteen (18) points to finish in twenty-first place. The market share of the viewership was still strong despite the result and therefore, Germany were quick to reveal that they will be present in Denmark but are nevertheless even quicker in commencing preparations for next years' selection process. Record labels have already been asked to send in their respective proposals for evalutation and it seems that one of the acts put forward by Sony Music Germany is none other than one hit wonder, Lou Bega.

Promipool.de has recently been in contact with Lou Bega who in turn stated that he was 'actually asked' by his 'record company'. Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of...), his debut single was a number #1 hit in several countries including; Germany, Australia, Austria, Finland, France, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. It set him up for bigger and better things but the follow-up single was a relatively modest success and his material has not really troubled the charts much in recent years. He has also released five studio albums, the latest being A Little Bit of 80's which is a collection of covers recorded in a different manner. No official confirmation on any of the acts has been made by the German broadcaster although the first names will be revealed in due course. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news.

The return of Slovakia to the Eurovision Song Contest has prompted a number of popular performers to try and turn around their countries' fortunes by putting themselves forward for the event yet it seems that this has only been the case for the past two years with both TWiiNS and Max Jason Mai having a huge fan-base to support their participation. On the other hand, 2010 was a different story when the major artist in the selection, Mista failed to garner the ticket despite winning the confidence of the Jury and also finishing in second place with the public with the song Emotions. The song which pipped her to the position was Horehronie by Kristina which got the same amount of points but came first with the public. Nevertheless, along with her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Czech Republic, she has gone onto greener pastures.

The fact remains that Kristina was never heard of following the Eurovision Song Contest whilst Mista has been consistently touring around Europe and also releasing brand new material which is receiving a lot of airplay and sales success. One of the more recent tracks entitled Never Hide has been three months on the radio stations and is still in the top ten within the Czech Republic whilst it is also the twelfth most played track in the club scene, seemingly entering back in the top ten soon. Despite working with Sony Music Entertainment, Mista is looking to release a brand new track entitled Cash Out through Universal Music at the end of May of this year so stay tuned to www.escflashmalta.com for more information about former stars of national selections.
