Fabrizio Faniello, the male singer/songwriter who has twice been chosen to represent Malta in Europe’s most favourite music competition, was one of the special guests on the television programme ‘Xarabank’, in a follow-up interview to the one which aired on Friday 13th. Clearly emotional, Fabrizio spoke about the various difficulties that he had to encounter, noting that such experiences have been life-changing and eye-opening.

It is no secret that those who abuse of drugs or alcohol have had their lives disheveled, and therefore ‘Xarabank’ will be raising funds in support of the voluntary organisation ‘Caritas’ in a couple of weeks. In light of this development, Fabrizio Faniello has lent his distinct vocals to “Fit-Tarf tat-Triq”, an original song in Maltese which he co-composed with Noel Borg and Philip Vella, with lyrics by Peppi Azzopardi. The song has also been made available on all legal platforms like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify with all proceeds set to be added up to the final tally of all funds collected. As a matter of fact, all those involved in the making of the song did it at no cost, something which is noble and honourable.

Since his comeback in 2011, with the aforementioned "No Surrender" co-written by Johan Stentorp and Johan Bejerholm, Fabrizio has gone onto win the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with the song "Aħfirli Jekk Trid" composed by Dominic and penned by Rita Pace. In less than a week, Gianluca Bezzina has become a leading figure in the local music industry following his victory at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song Tomorrow co-written between Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat. He has stated on a number of occasions that he never even expecred to make it through to the final selection show on Saturday and had to take the day off only in the morning but nevertheless, foreign critics have been extremely positive and we'll be rounding up some of the most notable names in the industry for a secondary verdict on his track which is going down extremely well. Tonight, he will be making an appearance on the popular programme, Xarabank hosted by Peppi Azzopardi and produced by Where's Everybody.

The details of the programme are quite secretive but nevertheless, this will be an important show due to the fact that the audience are yet to get to know Gianluca Bezzina better and one could definitely get the element that this is a similar year to 2010, when Thea Garrett who had won with the song My Dream had been relatively unknown to the music scene. The runners-up of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest being, Kevin Borg with the track Needing You and Davinia Pace with Betrayed have both gone on record stating that they are fully behind the winning entry and that Gianluca will carry the audience with his charisma. MESC 2013: These are the 24 Semi-Finalists

The Public Broadcasting Services has carefully selected the Friday evening prime-time slot for the announcement of the twenty four semi-finalists who will be competing with the hope of representing the country in the next Eurovision Song Contest which will be taking place in Sweden after a major victory recorded by Loreen and her entry Euphoria. For the first time in years, the national broadcaster received a substantial amount of entries, a record by standard since it took over full proceedings of the competition. Xarabank which is set to commence right after the news bulletin will be mainly focusing on the Malta Eurovision Song Contest although another current affairs issue will be tackled every now and then in order to anticipate the excitement amongst the performers and their guests, most of which will be songwriters.

The picture above is excitingly interesting because it features all of the names and surnames of songwriters, and artists alike who were revealed to be in the second name of the competition. This is a jumbled up image depicting everyone and thought it would be appropriate for this evenings' announcement. The editorial board of escflashmalta.com will be covering the programme live as it unravels. The quality of the entries is set to be of higher standard this time round considering the qualification of the country in the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year with Kurt Calleja doing the nation proud as he performed This Is The Night. There is a mixture with most of the entries being either by local songwriter or by a mixture of foreign and local songwriters although some completely foreign teams were also present in the second phase list announced a couple of weeks back.

The dates for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013 has been confirmed as the 1st and the 2nd February 2013 with the Malta Music Awards taking place on the 3rd February 2013. For the third consecutive year; Vodafone, Hebe, ROCS Group and Mediterranean Bank are the main sponsors of this years' competition and the first surprise is an announcement that the winner will get to go to Dubai within the United Arab Emirates. The value of this gift is that of €15,000 which would be added to the €7500 amount set to be given by the Public Broadcasting Services. 03. When It's Time - Claudia Faniello (Errol Sammut / Claudia Faniello)

04. My Stranger Love - Corazon Mizzi (Paul Giordimaina / Fleur Balzan)

We have the first break coming up but before, four artists being Ylenia Vella, Richard Edwards, Franklin Calleja and Petra have been called on the main stage in order to find out which out of the four will make it through to the next phase of the competition.

05. Fall Like Rome - Richard Edwards (Philip Vella / Magnus Kaxe / Gerard James Borg)

06. Tides of Illusion - Ylenia Vella (Jason Cassar / Mario Farrugia)

10. Tomorrow - Gianluca Bezzina (Boris Cezek / Dean Muscat)

11. Hot and Famous - Ġorg & Pawlu (Philip Vella / Cher Vella) NB: According to a list published by PBS, this is not competing!

12. Fantasy - Danica Muscat (Paul Abela / Joe Julian Farrugia)

It seems that the presentation of the songs is that of four entries each time and there is surprising acclaim towards the track by Gorġ & Pawlu which seems to be the 25th Semi-Finalist. It is yet unknown whether this joke act will ultimately compete. Interval.

13. Needing You - Kevin Borg (Kevin Borg / Simon Gribbe / Dan Attlerud / Thomas Thörnholm / Michael Clauss)
