Last year, Melanie Zammit made her debut within the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled Loverdose co-written by Maria Lundin, Niclas Lundin and Gerard James Borg. Despite being one of the public favourites, finishing in fifth place in the escflashmalta.com poll which saw to Chris Grech being awarded the coveted Public Award, the track failed to make it to the final stage of the competition.

The editorial board at escflashmalta.com can indeed confirm that Melanie Zammit will not be submitting an entry for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014. During a number of chats held with the female vocalist, she stated on more than one occasion that she is currently busy with other projects. We would like to wish her the very best and hope for her return in future years. This is the third former Malta Eurovision Song Contest contestant to confirm absence for next years' event together with former runner-up Klinsmann and veteran Nadine Axisa. More stories will be revealed by escflashmalta.com in the coming days.

As previously reported, Valentina Monetta has released her new music video and single titled L'Amore Verra but this week has been a pretty much hectic week for new singles and videos from past Eurovision Artists together with other artists who tried to represent their native country in previous years.

Roberto Bellarosa has released a new singled titled Suivre Mon Etoile. He was the 2013 Belgian representative that was chosen internally to be on the Swedish Eurovision Stage in Malmo. He successfully sailed through the semi final and placed 12th on the final night with his entry Love Kills. The 2006 Croatian representative, Severina Vučković has released a new single and video. With Turkish elements to complement the song, the song is titled Hurem. She had graced the Athens stage during the 2006 Contest with her entry Moja Stikla and placed 12th on the final night with 26 points.

From a non Eurovision representative, Carina Dahl has released a new single titled If That's The Only Way. Carina has tried to represent Norway twice. Her first attempt was in 2011 with the song Guns and Boys and in 2013 with Sleepwalking. Both entries unfortunately didn't make it to the final night of the Norwegian pre-selection stages.

Another non Eurovision representative and from another Scandinavian country is Ola who has released a brand new video for his single Jackie Kennedy. Ola had tried to represent Sweden twice. His first attempt was in 2008 with the song Love in Stereo but didn't make it to the final. He returned to the Swedish pre-selection heats (Melodifestivalen) in 2010 with the song Unstoppable and managed to be in the final but placed 7th on the night. He is currently hitting the Italian Radio airwaves with huge successes to his brand new singles.

Two time San Marino representative and also the 2014 representative for the same country, Valentina Monetta has just released a new song and video clip. The song is titled L'Amore Verra and was taken from her debut album La Storia di Valentina Monetta released following her experience in Sweden.

The 2014 San Marino entry is also expected to be included in her upcoming collection set to be put forward to the public for consumption in January. SMTV, the broadcasters hopes that Valentina will manage to have her way and get through to the final on her third time. Her sophomore album will consist of twelve (12) songs which were penned by Ralph Siegel and Valentina herself.

Valentina represented San Marino in 2012 with the song Social Network Song which had failed to qualify for the grand final and returned once again to the Eurovision Stage the following year with the song Crisalide which suffered the same fate but this time with just a small margin. She was selected internally on both occasions and was lucky enough to be chosen once again for Copenhagen. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

This morning the official logo for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 has been presented. NTU, the Ukrainian Broadcaster has revealed that the official logo will complement the slogan for this year's contest which is Be Creative! One might ask why is the logo made from Puzzles. It has been explained that puzzles are means for people to be creative.

Puzzles also represent a mystery and every child uses puzzles. A puzzle also connects one another and Junior Eurovision is one way of uniting and connecting all the children around the world. As stated by the Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev: He's the perfect symbol of bringing all the elements of the show - the children and their talent - together. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Kiev on 30th November 2013 with the return of Malta after an absence of 2 years. Malta will be represented by prodigy Gaia Cauchi of La Voix Academy headed by Gillian Zammit. A record number of 872 entries have been submitted for next years' edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the selection process which will see an act represent Denmark on home soil following the astonishing victory achieved by Emmelie de Forest and her song Only Teardrops. Earlier this year, DR had received 692 submissions, a number which has been considerably dwarfed by around 200 more songs. It continues with the strong tradition of hundreds of submissions in countries within the Scandinavian region as noted by Norway, Finland and Sweden.

In three (3) of the past four (4) years, the nation managed to finish in the top five (5) and gained resounding charting success with their 2011 entry New Tomorrow performed by the group A Friend In London who went onto record with the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen. Rasmus Ladefoged, responsible for the Entertainment Section at DR is excited about the prospect of finding another strong entry to represent the country. 'It is so cool! It’s really amazing! It ‘s a very special year for the Grand Prix this year, because we are going to host the Eurovision Song Contest. I think that has helped create the attention, that has now led to this great contribution'.

Whilst no speculation with regards to songwriters and artists has been noted in any tabloid, Ladefoged stated that there is a good mixture of amateur and professional songs whilst a number of wildcards will also be invited to compete within the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix slated to take place on the 8th March 2014 in Odense. Stay tuned to escflashmalta.com for all of the latest news about both the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.
