Many fans are anxious to know what is going on in Minsk today and they should as all fourteen delegations are very busy preparing for the first dress rehearsal which is set to comment in just thirty minutes time actually with the time set for 14:00 CET. In the meantime though, what is really important for today is the evening dress rehearsal as it is quite vital to the final result that will be announced tomorrow with the Juries having their say this evening at around 19:00 CET.

The Maltese delegation is relaxed, content and happy with the way that things are proceeding and Malta is amongst the favourites to win this years' Junior Eurovision Song Contest along with Belgium, Sweden, Latvia and Serbia. In the meantime, the song which has been decreasing in popularity, Georgia continues to perform well below average during rehearsals, shouting at numerous times. The fact that she is portraying a well known star is not going down well. In-fact, it is interesting that the four countries tipped above have something in common, they are all female performers, two of them singing ballads and two of them singing chirpy popish songs.

Yesterday, Nicole and her team gave an incredible performance and was tipped by the media present as her best thus far so one will surely hope that she can even top such a performance during the evening. We will be speaking to her manager, Daniel D'Anastasi right after the first dress rehearsal and then also to him after the second one this evening. In the meantime, we also hope to get Nicole's feedback this evening.

Update (1st Dress Rehearsal): Nicole kicks off her song in impressive fashion actually with the vocals sounding very good. The choreography is really looking well on the screen I must add and this is the best chance that Malta has had since 2008. The beat of the song sounds really well and the people seem to be having fun with it. Critics and Press alike have continued to grow fond of our entry so let's hope that things continue within the same manner. We have spoken to Daniel D'Anastasi before the rehearsal and he told us that Nicole and her team are doing their absolute best and that they were very relaxed. In the meantime, let's hope that this evening will be more of the same.

Update (2nd Dress Rehearsal): ESCflashmalta had a feed into the press centre and could see and hear the rehearsal this time round. Nicole was definitely not anxious and sounded very good throughout. I must say that the dancing was quite relaxed yet again and it seems that Malta is working hard to achieve it's best placing within the festival this time round. Many acts were anxious this time round of course because of the Jury but Nicole was definitely not one of them actually. A very big good luck to her and the whole Maltese team in Minsk, Belarus. Within the mock vote, Malta placed second so let's hope that we go one better during the live show.

Don't forget to watch the Junior Eurovision Song Contest next Saturday at 20:45 on TVM, the station run by the Public Broadcasting Services whilst also following the live commentary on ESCflashmalta along with me, and singers Priscilla Psaila, second runner-up in the 2000 Malta Song for Europe, Maria Desira and Justine Delmar, the runners-up of this years' Malta Junior Eurosong.
