In recent years, the national language of the Maltese Islands has been promoted through various mediums including that of song and in fact one of the leading festivals which promotes local talent is none other than the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza organized under the hospice of Media.Link Communications. Over the years, the winners of the local spectacle have went on to bigger and greener pastures and this years' edition will surely be the same for the eventual winner who will be known on Monday 19th September 2011 when the event takes place on the Granaries in Floriana. The annual music competition will be heading into its twentieth year and therefore, the organizing committee is working really hard in putting up a spectacular show, somewhat better than recent years to accommodate the grandeur.

This years' edition which will be hosted by Charles and Elaine Saliba is being lead up with a programme entitled 'Indifest' which in turns airs every Tuesday following the evening news. In the past couple of weeks, viewers have been treated to singers from the 'Established Category' and the 'Teenage Category' but only another two weeks in the series, one would note that we are now nearing the end. This evening, the acts who will be performing their entries playback but in full are none other than the group Silent Shout with the song 'Għad Fadal Għada' composed by Chan Vella and penned by Alexia Schembri as well as Albertine u L-Qamħa who will be singing the song 'Skont Id-Daqqa Iż-Żifna' composed by Dominic Cini and penned by Giovann Attard. From the latter category and will be performing live is none other than the young Angelica Portelli who will be bidding to make it amongst the final three with the song 'Ejjew Nieqfu' composed by Miriam Christine and penned by Joe Chircop.

In the meantime, the guests for this evenings' showcase are somewhat large in number because there will be two present. First up will be none other than the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest representative Claudette Pace whom in 1999 had won with the song 'Ejjew Nippruvaw' and also, another Eurovision Song Contest representative in the form of Miriam Christine who won the event back in 1998 with the song 'Nistaqsi', just two years after her foreign appearance. Also joining in during the programme will be the resident 'Vogue Dancers' who will be doing another scintillating choreography. A number of prizes will also be given away to the lucky people who have been voting for their most favourite song. So this evening after the evening news on NET Television, tune in to Indifest presented by Charles & Elaine Saliba.
