In the 8 o'clock news bulletin on Television Malta, the Public Broadcasting Services published the regulations for the 2015 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. It is fair to say that the announcement has shocked the local music industry, especially with the brand new set of regulations deeming fit that the interested parties have to submit an original song conforming to the regulations of the European Broadcasting Union as well as a cover version which showcases the best vocal attributes.

Submissions will be received at the PBS Creativity Hub on the 28th and 29th August 2014 against a fee of €150. As has been the case between 2011 and 2014, songwriters may of any nationality with the main vocalist having to be exclusively of Maltese nationality or else holding dual citizenship. With the Public Broadcasting Services shortlisting the submissions to 20 for the semi-final, and eventually 14 for the final, each artist may only perform just 1 song. We urge you to stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
