Malta: New Powerful Single by Janice Mangion Featured

By

With the success of Kewkba in the local and international music scene in hindsight, it was a given that the same creative minds would come together once more to work on something else which transcends magic, depth and strength. This time round, songwriters Mark Scicluna and Emil Calleja Bayliss were joined by Cyprian Cassar, who also worked on the production. Keeping in line with the diverse elements that showcase the full vocal potential of Janice Mangion, Warda was born.

“It has always been at the back of my mind to work on an original song which I could dedicate to my mother due to her continuous dedication throughout the years ... she never had an easy life, and she did everything in her capability to make sure that I am always happy ... the love of a mother is something incredible, and as a result, I refer to her as a rose” says Janice Mangion about the song with a smile on her face and sparkling eyes.

Throughout these past 12 months, Janice Mangion has been involved in several spectacles including the biggest music festival in Eastern Europe, the Slaviansky Bazaar where she finished amongst the top 10 after singing in Maltese, English and even Russian. Janice believes that the ‘Maltese language is of great value and it is rather sad that it is not always appreciated and taken care of in the best possible way.’

Supported by a strong visual created by producer Matthew Muscat-Drago, Warda made it’s debut on television on the 8th February 2018 although it was made public on several forms of social media as well as all digital stores the following day on the 9th February 2018. This was possible as a result of a collaboration between Ironic PR & Artist Management and CAP-Sounds whose absolute professionalism is to be commended.

In the coming days and weeks, Janice will be promoting Warda on television, radio and even social media, noting that interest will be rather high. For more information about Janice Mangion as well as the new single, visit her on her official social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. There you will find a lot of information, more than you could ever imagined.

Broken Unprepared” is an intriguing title for a debut single, and no one at this portal would have expected any different from Crosswalk, who first emerged onto the scene with their promotional track, “So Simple” at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Written by Boris Cezek, the song has an interesting flair to it, almost out of a musical, to be more direct, “Rent”.

Despite having formed back in 1999, as a band between two friends, Steve Camilleri Bowman and guitarist Kenny D’Ugo, 2017 seems to be a year of firsts, adding vocalists Janice DeBattista to the line-up as well as songwriter and producer Boris Cezek. In support of the release, the band have also issued a lyric video, created by Duane Laus, the same mastermind behind lyric videos of Firelight, Gianluca Bezzina, Avenue Sky, and Janice Mangion amongst others. In the aftermath of that spectacular showcase, Christina has returned to her everyday life focusing on her school work, and keeping her grades in check. That said, she has also been busy in the studio working on new material with some of the world’s leading songwriters, in preparation for the release of her debut album in a couple of months’ time.

Franklin Calleja, second runner-up at this year’s edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and an artist who profile has risen in a relatively short amount of time owing to his incredible vocal skills has just released his first radio single, “Let You Go”, composed by Cyprian Cassar and penned by Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca.

This is the second time that the trio have worked together as a unit, having previously been responsible for his success at Malta’s leading competitive event, “Little Love”. “Let You Go” is written in a significantly different genre that what people have come to expect from the talented artist, merging a thumping bass, with an ethnic sounding brass instrument.

It is new, it is different and it works. In a supporting music video, produced by Fade in Media, Franklin is scaling the heights and having fun with the song, something that he does not normally do, noting that he tends to feel very emotional as he tackles a ballad.

“Let You Go” has amassed a stunning number of views through social networking website Facebook, but it has also made an impact on the local radio stations, making Malta’s Top 10 on 89.7 Bay. We urge you to listen to the song below, and also stay tuned to escflashmalta.com even through Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news as soon as it becomes available.

In the initial stages of the creative process, Janice sought a meaningful message, one which helps those who find themselves in moments of despair, thinking that their faith has abandoned them completely. This, accompanied by her soulful voice creates an exceptionally beautiful song. Aiding in the recorded was the talented Angela Spiteri who provided a strong backing vocal.

“Burnin”, which is available from streaming and purchase on all major digital platforms has been released through CAP Sounds, a record label based in Germany with full distribution handled by Universal Music Germany. Manfred Holz of the aforementioned company stated ‘Janice has an incredible vocal range which we are proud to represent, and we believe that “Burnin” showcases her talent in the best possible way’.
