Slovenia is one of the countries that has been under-rated on a number of occasions at the Eurovision Song Contest with their best result thus far being a seventh place achieved by Darja Svajger in 1995 with the track 'Prisluhni Mi' and also in 2001 at the hands of Nusa Derenda with the track 'Energy'. The selection process took place over a number of weeks with the search for the artist being quite intense. In the long run though, two acts made it and had to perform three songs each with Eva Boto and the track 'Verjamem'. The show was…
The Dutch broadcaster responsible for the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has just organized what could be deemed to be the best national selection in recent years with a stunning setting with regards to visuals as well as presentation in terms of format. Nevertheless, the result was somewhat less enticing despite being quite an exciting process seeing the jury and the people in the audience sway towards one side as opposed to the public who made a completely different choice in what seemed to be an extremely close race. In the end though it was Joan and her track…
One of the countries that have been participating for quite some time is The Netherlands, a nation that has managed to garner victory twice in the history of the event but the last time this took place was back in 1975 thanks to the group Teach-In with the track 'Ding-A-Dong'. In recent years, there has been a number of disappointments leading to the loss of the backing of the broadcaster; NOS in favour of the more current broadcaster; TROS. This change was implemented back in 2009 and despite the attraction of star names to represent the Dutch country at the…

RTVSLO, the Slovene broadcaster responsible for the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has decided to revamp their selection process for Baku, Azerbaijan. The main choice was surely with regards to the performer rather than the song but then again, following the talent competition, songwriters from both local and foreign songwriters including some which were called in specifically for the occasion. The final song selection process known as EMA 2012 will be featuring two (2) performers performing three (3) songs each, specifically written for them. Last year, Slovenia were represented by Maja Keuc and the song 'No One' making it…
With the Baku Eurovision Song Contest getting nearer, the participating countries are busy choosing correctly their representatives. Yesterday, Finland chose Pernilla Karlsson after three elimination rounds and a semifinal show, leaving the last six acts battling for the Baku ticket in yesterday’s final night. The best three acts, Pernilla Karlsson, Stig and Ville Eetvartti, then qualified for the 'superfinal', where it was eventually decided that Pernilla Karlsson will represent Finland in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'När Jag Blundar'. Last year’s Finnish representative, Paradise Oskar attended the show as a special guest. Finland were the winners of…
The national finals season is coming to an end and in fact, two nations were hosting their final semi-finals last night with the national final looming just a couple of days away. Estonia and Lithuania were both finalists in the 2011 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest but there results left a lot to be desired finishing at the lower end of the right hand side of the scoreboard unfortunately. Still, the songs being presented in both countries is quite good actually and that might only mean positive news should the right song from each respective nation is chosen. The…
Malmo, the host city of the 1992 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, hosted the fourth and final semi-final of the 2012 edition of the Melodifestivalen which saw a lot of drama noting the several popular names that took to the stage. There were quite a couple of surprises but then again, this is somewhat the case as the event gains prominence. There were eight live performances, introduced by three stunning ladies, one of them being none other than former contestant; Sarah Dawn Finer. At the end of the evening, there were four (4) names which got through, two (2)…
In the past, Georgia have presented themselves with various genres, and with astounding performers but that seems to be a case of the past following the selection of Anri Jokhadze last weekend. The song which he is presenting to the showcase entitled 'I'm a Joker' fuses to many loud sounds together in lyrics which do not make any sense at all. Nevertheless, it seems that there is still hope for the song following the fact that the broadcaster, GPB along with the performer will be making a completely overhaul and re-production with the aim of presenting a version which will…
The first scandal of the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest seems to have been uncovered from the eastern country of Belarus. A couple of weeks ago, the high profile national selection known as 'Eurofest' took place under the hospice of the broadcaster, BTRC but then again, it seems that the final result was a fraud despite the fact that Alyona Lanskaya was one of the two favourites to walk away with the top placing with the song 'All My Life' which was most probably set to be transformed or changed completely before Baku, Azerbaijan. The president of the…
